I have a CSM army, and I'm currently converting 70+ Ork boyz and some IG (and a few spess mehreenz in the future) into a veritable zombie horde.
All seems to be well and good, but I've recently thought of a possible rules problem.

1) First of all, I'm making all my cultist units into zombies, but do I get to keep the champion (albeit with FnP, Fearless and SnP)?

2) Secondly, in the unlikely event that he kills an enemy champion, does he roll on the boons table?

3) Thirdly, if he by some miracle became a DP through the table, how would I figure out the type of Daemon he's supposed to be (Nurgle, etc)?

As far as I know you HAVE to keep the champion in there, even though he's a zombie.

As per the rules for chaos champions, if he kills an enemy in a challenge, he does indeed roll on the boon table.

As for what happens if he becomes a DP, I've no idea. I'd assume he'd just stay as a Vanilla prince, as the unit had no mark of Nurgle or anything.

I'd re-read the actual words of the champion of chaos rule. That's not exactly it.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

1. yes, there is still a champion.

2. yes, he still rolls

3. champions who score a Dark Apotheosis are stripped down bare daemon princes. no marks or anything.

He's an unmarked Prince note that marked models do indeed retain their mark (in that they become a daemon of whatever god they had a mark for).

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com
