I think the first half looks good and then they cram far too much into the second half. And maybe leave you hanging. I didn't hate it after finishing it or anything, but the end definitely seemed rushed or slapped together. Like there was going to be at least one or more other seasons, but then they got told they had to finish it. Or if it's less than 20something episodes, they ran out of episodes on short notice. Pretty cool otherwise, kind of which there was more and it was spaced out a bit more.
Nice sig btw

And that why you read the manga and don't watch the anime that screwed it up.
But I no can read Japanese That, and the show (at the time at least) was available on netflix. I haven't got the cash to throw around on that many books, or the pirate skills/inclination. Also never been good at reading comic style books. Web comics, yes. Normal books, all the time. Proper comic books and manga... somehow just don't work for me usually.

I power watched it in 24 hours Friday into Saturday.
I can very much agree with the crying/frustration yell sentiment. But the hopelessness is pervasive.

I honestly thought the anime was pretty sub par. Animation and action scenes were great, but dear god the pacing was terrible.
poppa G and GrimDork -> Unfortunately, the anime only had 24 (or something) episodes to tell this tale. I can tell you, around March I read the most recent chapter at the time. Yes, the story is still going, they had absolutely no way to cram all the plot in so few episodes BUT, the first part of the plot, all the way until the final arch (the North) is very, very good and truly faithful to the manga.
What this series needs, and I'd love to see it, is a reboot like FMA. FMA was good, but FMA:Brotherhood just went up to 11 if not 12.
@Soladrin - pacing was terrible because they used that beautiful technique called "padding" -.- . Reading the manga, I saw how much more direct and powerful AoT was. For example, the final episode:
Spoiler:
We have that Shinji like scene where he refuses to go Titan, because she was their friend and colleague, oh woe is me, I can not transform, look at me bleeding, I'm such a martyr.
In the manga, The Ass-Kicker Extraordinaire, aka Mikasa, just says something like "Life is cruel" with dagger-piercing like eyes to him so he snaps the feth out of his emo mode and he goes "Yeah, you are right" -> TITAN MODE: ENGAGED!" -> IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME!!

Started watching Chaika. I'm loving the setting and the story is fun so far. Character dynamics are really selling it, though. (well, that, and the fighting actually being somewhat plausible).

Yep yep, I read the manga a bit before the show started so it was kind of dissapointing to see them handle it like that.
That said, the manga has slowed to a crawl too recently and I don't even follow it anymore.
I'm in the "meh" category for AoT for sure. If they had cut out the padding and crammed a lot more plot development into a single season, and it had been a single season show... then I might have found more to like.
I think I enjoyed the pokemon moives quite a bit as a kid. RIght now, I find them entertaining still but you kinda know how the plots going to turn out, kinda in the same way you like Disney movies. At least the movies had a better budget than the show so they always looked quite good for their time. I was trying to think which one I enjoyed the most but I cant decide just becasue I can't really remember them all.
It was actually a lot of fun. I was in the middle of building a PC for a friend, and they're great because they're simple, funny, and they always have a little something to pull on the heart strings. Something super easy to watch when you're playing DS (or building a computer in my case lol)

I know, right? I wish they put the whole season, and other seasons on Netflix. The girlfriend and I have only watched a little of the Ruby/Sapphire series, and none of the Diamond/Pearl series. We did watch the first 3-4 episodes Black/White on Netflix, though. It's definitely still enjoyable. We'll actually get around to really watching it soon.
Also, watched the 6th Pokemon movie last night (Jirachi Wish Maker). It was our least favorite so far
My biggest issue with Pokemon these days (besides Ash being an idiot and stuck at 10 for all eternity) is the new VA grates on me, because I can tell it's a woman.
Yes, I know he was always voiced by a woman. So's Luffy. This new one is just worse at hiding it, I guess.

Finished Claymore the other day. Bit of a let down. And basically with how the ending was, if there never comes a Claymore season 2 I'll be deeply disgusted.

Yeah, that was one big issue we had watching Black/White. Meowth is easily the worst of the new VAs.

Dub. I know nothing of the original Pokemon voice acting or series, except there were a few episodes banned in the US for various reasons.

Some rather disturbing reasons

You know, I never buy miniatures I like that since I can use them on the tabletop, but that is a nice Rei! (translation: I blow all my money on toy soldiers, so I can never have that. )
