Sorry dude but I cant let this go on any longer, it's CARAPACE.

But yeah, i'd do a test with the claws try one in black and one in bone then post some pics and we'll let you know.

There were some nice nids that sound like that in a WD issue a few years back, (he'd used a yellow as the accent colour) I'll try and dig out the issue number.

Depending on the type of claw...

Scything talons or small claws - I would make he same color as the teeth.

Big claws (crushing claws) I would make the same color as the carapace, but maybe add a bit of color....for example, exceptionally dark purple, or purple at the edges blending to black..

Can't wait to see these!

If you could do something to make the claws really glossy, I think they would look great in black.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

So, am I the only one who was expecting to see a genestealer flashing gang signs?

More to the topic at hand, there are several species of earth bugs which have evolved an urban camoflage just in the past 150 years or so. In particular the peppered moth.

Less about the color and more gee whiz. Anywho, while a bland color scheme might seem...bland and you want to add some color, try painting up a unit without adding the accent color and taking a look at it. Single figures often dont have the same impact as whole units, and the whole unit can be quite striking even when it is just blacks, whites and greys.

Maybe add some subtle colouring with blues or purples;
