Anyone know a website i can get my hands on minotaur heads about the same size as the typical space marine? My sculpting with greenstuff is pitiful and i really dont feel like hand sculpting that many heads anyway.

I am intending to start up a space marine army, but the Ork in me says i cannot do anything simple and ordinary - so im going with Space Cows! After i get done with my Tau paintjobs i intend to start "slowly" building the space marine one (slowly as in buy a box, build/convert/paint it, THEN buy another so i dont have this 40+ unpainted model issue lol). They will have swapped heads, refitted legs, and three-fingered hands. The latter i can do myself fairly simply, but i need the heads and everything i find is too big lol.

Anyone input would be greatly appreciated.

Kroot heads with conversions are the first thing that comes to mind.

Could you explain what type of heads are you looking for.

Do you mean spartan/roman style heads which the minotaurs are similar to, or are you looking for helmets that look like bull heads?

A pic would help even more.

if you want the former, then do some searches for spartan or roman helmets - puppets war has some, as does anarchy models if I recall.

Basically want i want is Minotaur heads, like that of the Beastman Minotaurs for fantasyhammer. Problem with them is theyre a little large (i think) or i'd just snag them.

Im not trying to make a clan that wears fancy helmets to look like minotaurs, im trying to legitimately make a Space Cow lol

The Splintered Light 20mm miniatures are about 28mm tall and have a proportionately large head. They might be just what you need.

$4 each though, but you might be able to talk him into rough cutting the heads off for a discount (I believe he casts in house). He wouldnt need to make a perfect cut, just use a pair of dykes to nip them off around the shoulder. Might be able to get half off or so...though no promises there.

Most 28mm minotaurs are much too large, and 15mm are too small. 20mm is a bit of an off scale, and they are usually single part castings.

Another option would be actual cows. Something like a 1/72 scale cow head might be about right. There are plenty of those and they are dirt cheap.

why not just use GW's beastman heads. separate plastic heads so they'll pop up on ebay at some point

pfft yea the actual toy cows could work too i guess...outta look around toy stores when im near them. The link you gave me is probably the closest i'd find since like you said 28mm are way too big, and thats usually what you'll find.

If i cant just get the heads though i might just do some math crunching and look at Bones. Their models are usually dirt dirt cheap and arent metal so i can actually cut them lol.
Im not buying the GW ones because the body of those minotaur are flippin huge - theres one on ebay right now for just under 5USD i may grab it and try anyway but i still think it would look odd since marines really arent that big. They'd be perfect for Termies though lol

Also they wouldnt be heretics because they arent mutants, rather the only alien accepted into the marine's code (even thats a stretch but whatever lol)
