I run an Aegis Defense line in my Chaos Army. One of the guys is detailed off as the gunner. When I played some of my friends last week he said that that makes it a squad weapon and the squad has to shoot at the same target. I think this is not true.
I looked in the BRB and it doesn't clarify this point just that now it has a BS of the gunner. Where can I find the rules?

I must admit I had always assumed and played that the squad had to shoot at the same target as per standard rules as the Ageis doesn't say you can shoot at seperate targets?

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

A *unit's* shooting attack must be at the same target (barring Split Fire and other shenanigans). Whatever gun the model happens to be using is irrelevant - if he's still part of the unit he must fire at the same target as the rest of that unit.

The fluff is like ketchup and mustard on a burger. Yes it's desirable, yes it makes things better, but no it doesn't fundamentally change what you're eating and no you shouldn't just drown the whole meal in it.
