I'm trying to be fairly competitive with this list. I normally consider sternguards an auto-include but I figured I'd try Grav-cannon centurions and take them for a spin. The list is a little light on troops but I think there are enough threats on the board to keep them safe. Here goes:

HEADQUARTERS

IF Chapter Master, TDA, Primarch's Wrath, Burning Blade 245
DA Librarian, TDA, PFG, lvl 1 125

TROOPS

IF Tacticals (x10), PG, HB, vet srgt, combi-flamer, rhino 220
IF Tacticals (x10), PG, HB, vet srgt, combi-flamer, rhino 220
DA scouts (x7), cloaks, snipers, vet srgt 108

FAST ATTACK

Stormtalon, TML 145

ELITES

IF Terminators (x10), 1x CF, 2x CML 455

HEAVY SUPPORT

IF Devastators (x10), 2x LCs, 2xML/Flakks, vet srgt 240
IF Centurions (x3), 3x MLs, 3x Grav-Cannons, omniscope 290
TFC 100

FORTIFICATIONS

Aegis Defence Line, quad-gun 100

Total of 2248

The CM will join the termies and deepstrike and tank wounds; they'll also pack a good punch in CC if needed. Alternatively they can walk up the board and fire as they.
The centurions and DA libby will walk and shred with Prescience and hopefully the power that forces saves rerolls.
The tacticals will most likely combat-squad, drop off the heavy-bolters midfield while the rest advance for the forward objectives. I'm thinking if I walk the termies they can form a line in front of the rhinos to provide them cover.
Scouts will objective-camp in a reinforced ruin while the TFC can provide anti-horde support.
Devastators will split, 2 lascannons and srgt on the quadgun, 2 MLs in reinforced ruin to take down flyers (tank-hunting flakks works out decent against flyers). The Stormtalon will also help against flyers or provide fire-support.

Any thoughts on this? I kinda like the idea of the indomitable force marching forward and shredding stuff...

Nothing?

I don't know if my list-building just sucks or if people aren't used to 2250pts but I haven't been getting much feedback lately... For reference, beakycon is 2250 this year , my best friend is going so I build those list with his 'Cron force in mind. Anybody care to throw in their 2 cents?

If you're going to take a Chapter Master with that load out, just take Lysander.

Mixing a CC beatstick HQ with shooty Terminators seems like a strange decision. I can see the thought process, but I've always been a fan of assigning a duty to a squad and sticking with it. Granted PF aren't the worst in CC, but if the HQ is just meant to tank wounds I'd drop the TH for a shooty weapon.

The ADL is a good idea, especially with the lack of AA you've got, but I feel like your AA is unnecessarily miss-matched. Maybe try no ADL, drop the devs to 5 with all Las, Pick up an extra Stormtalon and give both Skyhammers. Stick the TFC in cover buffed by the marine manning it.

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

I'm taking the CM for the orbital bombardment, I also like the extra attack. You make a fair point about having a gun on him, I've done the Primarch's Wrath/Burning Blade combo which is fun and fairly fluffy for IF (relic boltgun), but I feel that in a competitive environment the Eternal Shield would be better for EW, and then you'd have to have some sort of CCW with a decent AP value, hence the hammer. I could try both kind and see which works out better I guess.

I don't have a second Stormtalon sadly, otherwise I would definitely follow your advice as I feel it would give me better shooting options. In the meantime the ADL will have to do, I feel having at least one model with interceptor is important to take out critical flyers (like 'Cron bomber or Hellturkey etc...)

Any advice on the core of the list or does it look OK?

As a core it's not bad. I'd consider swapping the HB for something more substantial. I understand Bolter Drill for IF affects it, but it only affects 16% of your shots. Missile Launchers, maybe? HB are good at what HB are good at, but that list in and of itself is fairly small.

I would like those terminators to have a beacon to drop onto, but that's less important if they're shooting.

The Grav/ML Cents sound like they'll put down just about any vehicle in a round of shooting, provided they get in range (always the problem with a 24'' gun). As an anti-infantry group, especially as IF, I may take HB/Hurrican with them.

On tacs, I'd rather take a combi-melta and regular plas than the other way around. Meltas that get the pen have a 50% chance to win at their job, whereas a one-shot plasma accomplishes fairly little. You have the backup tank killing behind the ADL, you don't really have the backup AP2 killing (unless you do stick with Grav Cents).

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll see if I can shuffle some point around and get PGs back in the tact squads. I might downgrade the libby back to lvl 1 and use him strictly for Prescience, specially since the other powers are gonna be random anyways...

So I've changed the original post to reflect these changes:

Switched the CM to Primarch's Wrath and Burning Blade

The tacticals now have an anti-infantry loadout with PG, combi-flamer and HB

I added a 7th man to the Scout squad to beef it up a bit.
