Ok, so this is purely a RAW discussion, as RAI is OBS supposed to be the same both ways,

but the BRB states that "not even BB may use allied transports"

yet I cannot find anywhere that states something to the effect of "main contingent amy not use the BB's transports"

can you find RAW that would disallow allies in BB transports?

not HYWPI, I Think 90%+ of us know its not RAI, so keep discussion to RAW on this one please.

It doesn't say anything about which is the main detachment and which the allied detachment in talking about the restrictions on BB in Allied transports.

I don't see how that can be read in any way that would deny it in one direction and allow it in the other.

interesting, good point to bring up, and I think that is a good clarification, as to why RAW disallows either from entering eithers transports,
as the "main detachment" is still a BB to the "allied 2nd one" so either way, weather 1st going into 2nd detach transports, or 2nd into 1st, its still a BB trying to enter an allied transport, and ther fore not allowed by RAW.

Both are BB in relation to each other, A transport from the other FOC(primary or allied) is an Allied Transport in relation to the unit.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Vanished Completely

The only way the rules for allies can function is to derive them from the models point of view. This would have the said model treating any units from it's own codex as 'friendly' and every other model as the 'allies' in question. If you do not take the rules from the perspective of the model, but instead put the matrix limitation on just the allied detachment, you end up with all sorts of broken situations thanks to the one way nature of this interpretation creates.

For example; a psyker with the desperate ally matrix would be able to cast powers on the primary detachment and not his own 'allied' detachment.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.
