The first time I looked to get into this hobby (well over a decade ago now)I picked up a white dwarf and there was an article in there about using an orange bag and some sort of temporary adhesive to hold it in place to make an interesting pattern on vehicles. My question is does anyone know of a resource/tutorial for doing this technique. I found it to be really cool at the time and am hoping it will give me some inspiration for upcoming projects!

1. Airbrush the color of the mesh pattern onto your model.
2. Buy a bag of oranges (or any mesh bag).
3. Cut out a section of the bag to fit the model.
4. Use a spray adhesive that won't damage your model on one side of the mesh.
5. Press the mesh to your model and allow to sit for a while.
6. Spraypaint/airbrush the base coat onto your model.
7. Carefully remove the mesh stencil and touch up any mistakes.

There may be other techniques besides using a spray adhesive in step 4, but I'm not familiar with them.

You'll have to check around for that. You may have to settle for PVA glue in a spray bottle, rubbing "glue stick" onto the netting, or something similar. If you have an actual model "hobby" shop (as opposed to a game shop), you can see if they have any info.

Repositionable Spray Adhesive.
Unfortunatly its one of the dearer ones. 3M make one of the best ones.
This is what airbrush artists use to hold their stencils in place.
