Question being. If i assault a CCB with a lord, with a unit that has a character, can i nominate the necron lord to stand out of the fight as he cannot accept challenges?
You can't nominate a chariot's rider, as you can only nominate characters that could have accepted the challenge (first bold statement under Refusing a Challenge on pg 64). Chariot riders cannot accept.
