Hello everyone, I've recently played Pokémon Black 2 und just finished the black Tower. After you finish him, the last Trainer offers you to meet him in Floccesy Town. There he gifts you with a lv 1 shiny Gible (Only Black 2, in White 2 you get a shiny Dratini). I was Training the Gible until lv 24 when it evolved into Gabite. Now, the Problem is the Gabite was NOT a shiny. In the 120 shinies that I posses, this has not even once occured. Is this a bug or do shinies not evolve always into shinies since the 5th Generation?

Thanks for all answers.

I'm rusty on my pokemon but I'm fairly certain that they're supposed to stay shiny, though maybe the lose of this one's shine is related to the way it is obtained in the game?

This should not happen.

Considering this is a Pokémon given to you by someone, rather than obtained by 'normal' methods, it's not unlikely that it's meant to be different i.e. that it will not remain shiny upon evolution.

In Ruby (the first Pokemon game that was truly my own), I stumbled upon a glorious shiny Trapinch (an awesome silver). He lost his shiny aspect when he evolved as well.

Every other shiny I've ever dealt with (all 2 of them) didn't have this problem though.

Thanks for the answers so far. My brother has got the shiny dratini from W2, however it evolved and kept its shiny appereance. I have googled the shiny form of Gible and its evolutions. Guess what...they are almost the same ! Mine is, infact, a shiny one but I was to dumb to visit Bulbapedia in the first place -.- Thanks for everyones help!

Bloody Gible chain. They look near-identical. Not even worth getting the shiny.
