So I just received the Dark vengeance kit as a present and I have these Dark Angels, problem is I don't care for the green scheme they generally use. I'm wondering if any of you have used or seen other schemes that looked good.

You can paint them any colour you want. If you want to have a more fluffy, lore accurate match you could paint them as one of the Dark Angel successor chapters. Follow the links to them to get their colour schemes.

I'm going to be using my DV Dark Angels as Blood Ravens, a red and bone scheme with black or gold detailing. Will require some modification of the chapter symbols but thankfully it doesn't look too hard to change the sword on wings to a blood drop on wings.

My suggestions would be go with what Yonan said. Have a look over the successors and see if any appeal first. If you still don't find anything you like then you are certainly within your right to paint them whatever colour you like.

The only problem with the latter is, unless you give us a bit more direction, some keywords of some sort, we can't really make any personalized suggestions for you.

You could perhaps go to coolminiornot (or google image) and just do a search for space marine and see if you get lucky..

What I did was to move the entire basic DA scheme around the colour wheel slightly,
Purple in place of green, Yellow in place of red, and kept the bone white, and black for DW and RW.
The purple / yellow relate to each other on the colour wheel the same way red and green do.
