Hi there,

I’ve written this Eldar army list with the Iyanden Codex rules. I’ve not played 40K for a while and going to go back in at the deep end with a 2K tourney in late November but saw the new models and I got dragged back in.

I wanted an army of dead Eldar so have avoided having Aspect Warriors and Guardians, I want it to be a fluffy yet competitive list. I’m planning on painting it bone and gloss black. I don’t really like Iyanden’s colours.

I like to think of these guys as a pro death Craftworld. As there’s the belief that Ynnead the Eldar god of the dead is to be the one that will fight and destroy Slannesh and save the Eldar and death is encouraged. So they’d probably be against most Eldar and perhaps might claim their souls for their own Craftworld’s infinity circuit.

So, below are The Reavers of Ynnead.

HQ
Spiritseer – Wraithforge stone
Spiritseer

Troops
5 Wraithguard –D-Scythes
Wave Serpent – TL Shuriken Cannons, Holofields

5 Wraithguard – Wraithcannons
Wave Serpent – TL Shuriken Cannons, Holofields

5 Wraithguard – Wraithcannons
Wave Serpent – TL Shuriken Cannons, Holofields

Fast Attack

Hemlock Wraithfighter
Hemlock Wraithfighter

Heavy Support

Wraithknight – Suncannon & Scattershield
Wraithknight – Heavy Wraithcannons, Scatter laser.

With the Spiritseers I’m hoping that one of them will get the Horrify power to combine with the Wraithfighters. And hopefully the forgestone will pull back a few wounds over the game, would be nice to get renewer and regen a few wounds over the game. Their signature power will be useful for all the Wraith infantry too.

One of the Wraithknights will be anti-tank and sort of anti-air. Using the Scatter laser to gain twin-linked and finishing off with the heavy Wraithcannons.

The other one will just be shooting the enemy troops and will be at the back of the board trying not to take too much fire as it’ll be my Warlord.

The whole army should be good for dealing with heavy troops and the like not sure about a horde army. Might be able to force some of the big units to run away with the Wraithfighters.

What do you think?

There's not much point your wraithcannon WK having a scatter laser - The WK can only fire two guns in a turn. You may as well just have the cannons.

The other WK would benefit from a scatter laser as its only got one gun atm.

I'm not a fan of the hemlock wraithfighter. I much prefer FW nightwings, counts as are easy to do with the DE plane. Its less points iirc too.

I'd look at getting in some more bodies if at all possible. 15 men for troops isn't a lot at 2k. Although its mitigated by them being T6.
And as someone on dakka said "Ynnead - the God Of Buffering"

No 'I' in ordnance.

Damn forgot you can only fire 2 weapons.

I know what you mean about the Wraithfighters I don't even like the name, they're not fighters, they don't dogfight. They are too expensive. They're in for fluff reasons really . But it would be nice to make a death star unit run away...

Drop the scatter laser from the knight, absolutely no point. Use those points to upgrade all the serpents to TL scatter lasers! 8 shots instead of 6 and laser locking the chin weapon/serpent shield! And it's not like you need the bladestorm with all the wraiths weaponry ignoring armour!

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them

need more dudes, i know its only 2k so id drop a wraith knight and get a few lords or another squad of wraithguard in a serpent. and the fighters! feth does things, get some crimson hunters and convert them to look wraithy or again lords with bright lances give them more targets so they cant nuke one at a time. id only play Iyanden at 2500 or more so you can actually have some gak to get shot at

I could do with more bodies you're right.

In the future I will change the list. Think I'll have to stick with it till the tourny though.

The Wraithfighters I feel have their uses.

I think forcing leadership tests every round will pay dividends. If you were to tank shock with multiple tanks and terrify and cause enough casualties, you could in theory cause 6 tests for one unit all in one round all successful ones to be rerolled .

Could you let me know how the hemlocks do for you?
I don't think I've seen anyone use them so far.

I agree about the scatter lasers. Trouble is the wave serpents are already built from 4th ed, so can't change that right now.

Definitely going to change the scatter laser to the sun cannon WK though

It really isn't much trouble to magnetize the turret, if needed you can get scatter lasers on ebay for cheap. I can't understate how much better the Serpents become with Scatter Lasers on top instead of Shuriken Cannons. If you spend your hobby time on anything, spend it on that, your return on time invested will be incredible in terms of competitiveness.
