So Ive decided I want to try and use some CF spacemarines but I havent included pedro or sternguard yet as Im just getting the hang of marines but here is a 2k list:

IG Primary

CCS
x4 plasma
chimera

x2 PCS
x8 flamers

Blob 1
x4 Infantry squads
x4 melta guns
x4 melta bombs
Commissar
x5 power axes

Blob 2 (Librarian goes here)
x4 Infantry squads
x4 melta guns
x4 melta bombs
x4 power axes

Leman russ eradicator
Heavy bolter sponsons

LRBT

Crimson Fist allies

Librarian

Tactical squad x10, plasma gun, combi plasma, lascannon
Tactical squad same as above^

Devastator squad x10
x4 lascannons

Aegis Line with quad.

So the tactic is I giant foot horde of IG supported by marines. All the marines combat squad so the tacticals split into 1 squad with lascannon and 4 dudes and then another squad of plasma, combi plasma and 3 dudes. The devastators split into 2 squads of 2 lascannons and 3 dudes.

The lascannon squads sit back and provide fire support while the blobs lead the charge with the flamer PCS and russes behind them followed by the plasma squads of marines. The CCS chimera will be in the middle providing plasma death somewhere.

So as I dont use psykers often what powers do I take for the librarian?

I played this list against a drop heavy nid army and when I found out it was drop heavy I hunkered down and basically went gunline. My opponent said that all the combat squads of marines were really annoying as its just a small squad with 1 or 2 scary weapons but the lascannons did a toll on the monstrous creatures.

Comments welcome!!!

Drop the Lascannons on the Tac squads unless you're planning to Combat Squad them, you need to get them in the opponents faces to harass objectives. Don't get me wrong, your blobs are huge and more than enough to capture objectives.

But there is no point in using IF tactics if you aren't taking advantage of Bolter Drill.

Sorry, should say that there is *little* point..

Yea I mentioned in the bottom portion that the squads would combat squaded and the lascannons would all sit back, the devs and the 2 5 man squads with lascannons would be the element that provides the anti tank fire, other than that everything else is pushing forward
