Hey guys! It's warhammer season for my friends and I. My friend just picked up the new SM codex and we were trying to come up with a list. Semi-competitve is the goal here.

5x Scouts w/ Sniper Rifles + Cloaks

Fast Attack

1x Land Speeder W/ Assault Cannon, Multi-Melta

Heavy
3x Centurion Devs w/ Grav Cannon/AMP, Omni-scope

First of all, I think that your army list would be much more clear if you separated into HQ, Troops, Elites, Fast Attack and Heavy Support.

I would try and scrape together the points to get a full Sternguard Squad. Maybe drop some of the combi-plasmas, it's unlikely that you'll need them all.

I think it would be a good idea to give both of your Tactical Squads both a Heavy Weapon and a Special Weapon.

I would merge the Scouts into one ten man squad.

Assault Cannons and Multi Meltas seem a bit confused to me. I've found that running two Multi Meltas or two Heavy Flamers on Land Speeders works exceedingly well.

To afford all these upgrades, maybe drop one Thunderfire Cannon. It would be good, but there's better things to sped the hundred points on, in my opinion.

Home-Made Marines: 1750 points
Sa'Cea Sept Tau: 130 points (just started)
Svern Bloodhowl Space Wolves: 0 points. I wish I was rich...

jeez that's a lot of points on the centuirions and land raider.

like way too much

not seeing any anti-air....

Drop land raider OR centurions. take stalkers instead

This seems like a pretty solid list, although I have a few points of advice

-Have the land speeders equipped with either the melta or the AC. Having both makes them incredibly expensive glass cannons, easily shot down but can deal a lot of damage. You are likely to give away first blood with these guys.

-I would vary the combi-weapons on the sternguard a lot more. Chucking in a couple of combi-meltas and combi-flamers will help your sternguard deal with stuff like land raiders and hordes such as 'nids and orks

-I would be tempted to drop the centurions and their Land Raider and take 2 extra thunderfire cannons, one in the place of the centurions and one in an allied detachment. (Yes, marines can ally with themselves, though it needs to use a different chapter tactics.) This allied detachment would be very useful if it had a defensive tac squad with only a heavy weapon, as the list you currently have does not have much staying power for holding objectives.

-I would also give the first tac squad (one without the melta) a flamer, and kit out the sergeants with combi weapons relating to their role. If the squad has a meltagun, sergeant would be good with a combi-flamer.

In response to mizzet, you are probably discounting the fact that you can only get 6 marines for 100 points. Effectively, you get a BARRAGE weapon AND a techmarine to bolster any terrain. Also the model is cool

EDIT: Yes, definately take some kind of anti-air, be it flakk missiles or at the very least, an aegis like with quad gun.

That's actually what happened, Horus is secretly a Tervigon.

Only point I'd make is that your not making the most of the Imperial Fist chapter tactics by taking Thunderfire Cannons in your heavy support, perhaps swap them out for a flakk missile launcher armed dev squad? Skyfire with re-rolls on failed penetration rolls is quite handy and been a staple of mine since the new codex.

My guess is that the OP. is only taking Fist tactics to use kantor.
