It is a mix of things I put together over the years, some of it is ral partha but most is third party stuff that I bet I could never find again. I was just looking at a Osprey book on Herod The Great's Army and I think I can keep the greek look and just change to paint jobs on the shields from snakes and stuff to palm branches and pillars.
Automatically Appended Next Post: So here is the first unit for my WAB 100 year war army. The miniatures are lead, which is interesting because I decided to not eat any snacks while I worked with them. I am trying for early 100 years war maybe around the time of the Scottish insurrections.
This next guy is from that unit (and an attempt at better photography).
These guys are my foot infantry/men at arms types. When the army started I was collecting the tactica army list but in 25mm (15mm drives me nuts).
Here is my horde of Ral Partha, English bowmen in 25mm. I was really happy with the way they turned out and it is one of my favorite of the old Ral Partha line.
These guys are my Ral Partha foot soldier/men at arms types. These guys don't look good at all to me and I am only moderately happy with the paintjob, but for fielding an army they were inexpensive and at least I got them painted.
I like to add fantasy pieces to the mix so I can beat up on WFB players and my friend's undead army in Battlesystem 2nd ed. Here are a few I am proud of:
and here is my 100 yrs war/Bretonnia collection of shame:
In the above photo there are several very nice minis from historical wargaming firms, when I get them painted up this army is going to be fantastic. I have a Edward the Longshanks who looks just like the Patrick McGoohan character from Braveheart, a very cool mini. When I paint it I will showcase.
I do have a good start on my 100+ bowmen however...
I am using lots of old Bretonnian plastic bowmen I got on e-bay to fill the ranks. They pass fairly well.
So now it is just a matter of getting these two armies painted up. I plan to use Dakka to keep me 'accountable.'
