I used to play Tau way back in the day 4th edition and moved to IG. I quit playing for a long time until I was cleaning out the closet and noticed all my Tau models and it made me want to play again. I have almost all my models painted now including massive amounts of Eldar so I figured I should at least get a list going so I can play if I ever get a chance.

My thoughts are the Sniper Drone Marksmen putting out some BS5 marker lights while their rapid fire sniper buddies put a hurting on special weapons and MCs. Shadowsun will roll around with the HBC Riptide and give reroll 1s, 2+ cover, 3+invul, infiltrate, and a total of 3 fusion blasters (had to add a shielded missile drone to keep Toughness 6.) Broadsides are a fire base but super immobile. Kroot will infiltrate or outflank based on objectives on the board. Wave Serpents because f you that's why.

The Twilight Zone

Shadowsun and a riptide is pretty beastly, but If your going that route, the upgrades on the riptide may be overkill. With that much protection, the stims are a bit expensive as a boost. Skyfire is okay, I guess if you plan on nova charging the HBC. If you drop the shield drone it makes it easier to maintain T6 as the shield drone will be your 1st wound anyways... Then you can put your farseer here for even more fun!

The devilfish is okay, but you might just want 6 warriors here to save points. It will be an easyish target for most enemies, but if it dies no big deal I suppose.

The firesight marksmen are decent to boost your sides and all, but the drones don't do all that much. WIth all your gunline elements, I would be tempted to take an ethereal for the broadside squad and maybe an ADL for your backfield. If you keep the kroot here as well it gets pretty awesome. Consider trimming points from the riptide, shield drone, and maybe some kroot/a sniper team for ethereal and/or an ADL with a quad.

The eldar part looks good. Farseer can grab a singing spear if you have points, not required. Instead of hanging with a riptide(he can hang with the ion tide as well) consider the mantle of the laughing god for extra trolling.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.
