Sounds like you already have one possible route. At the scale of Meganobs, though, I'm worried that the patterns would be unidentifiable, if left at vehicle scale, or end up looking somewhat cluttered, if shrunk down but kept varied.
The thing about Blood Axes (and Orks, in general) is that they don't usually make practical considerations like "how effective will this pattern actually be at hiding a big, loud, smoke-belching set of mechanical armor." If camouflage patterns make things sneakier, you put it on everything you want to sneak, regardless of whether that would realistically help - that's not something you'd likely even have a concept of. If you have a favored camo pattern for the rest of the army, you can slap it right on. Hell, put it on a Battlewagon, too. Looted a Bastion or ADL? Camo. Got a Fighta/Bomma and use woodland camo? No problem.
That's just how they think: Simplistic, absolute associations.
1. "Pattern X" is camo.
2. Camo makes you sneaky.
3. Being sneaky makes you extra killy.
.: 4. Put "Pattern X" on everything.
