You see this a bit with the Dreamforge Mortis (less armored) versus the Crusader (more armored).

I prefer the more unarmored look myself  so you can see the workings (which are detailed on both, but when you add armor it covers the details up!).
There is a similar issue with the new SM Centurions. Imo, they look better with some of the armor bits left off.

Dreamforge stuff you cited are TITANS. Not power armor. Terminator armor is different too. So is centurian armor.....Here is POWER ARMOR -
