Is there any good way to get this in the UK? I had a look at Wayland games but they charge a lot to deliver these items.

It sounds like an acrylic art medium, if it is, you can probably buy the art version from a graphic art supply shop.

I have several of these, I took some pics a while ago to show what they look like wet, dry and after shading so you can see what to expect from them. You can mix paint with them, or just paint over the top of them if you want the texture but not the colour. Oxid paste is a ~100% match to Vallejo fire red, I haven't checked to see if the others have good matches.

For those interested, here are two excellent brands of colourless acrylic medium in various textures.
