Their Primarch, Seamus , believed in a religion other than the Emperor (Which is forbidden, as you know) so the Emperor sent Fulgrim and his army to destroy his legion when he found out. Fulgrim failed but didn't want to be humilliated so said that he won. It was said that in the battle Seamus turned into a huge spider right before Fulgrim was going to send the final blow, but once he returned to normal, his health deteriorated so he died 20 days after the battle. The captain of the first company took his place as both leader and military director, and he took a vow to protect humanity; to protect his blind brothers from their stubbornness .
Oh, by the way, you can tell from my name that they are called the Holy Spiders, and no, they aren't based off of Spider-man; they are based off of Spiders, like how Space wolves aren't based off of Timberwolf but are based on Wolves. ...But yeah, the paint scheme IS based on Scarlet Spider's color scheme.

Unfortunately, we basically do know what happened to the two missing chapters. While details are vague, the small list of known items can't be countered by DIY fluff.

I like your scheme (looks good) and the I like the spider theme (fairly unique to the 40k world). There are some good arachnid models in WHFB that you could use to replace things in your force.

I can only reflect the opinions of others whom has posted here, but your scheme looks well, less than intresting, but you get marks for at least trying to make a fairly uncommon scheeme.

This is what i think, so deal with it!

Like the other guy said screw the "DIY Guide", this is a game with little plastic men, if you want spider little plastic men that is your prerogative, the Fluff nazis can go suck tyranid "stalk".

That being said, just to inform you it does come across a little "kiddie", actually it totally reminds me of the Space Marine army I ran when I was in highschool, same background with the worshiping a different religion and everything minus the Spider Chapter Master (Did you know their is already a Space Marine chapter master who is half spider? I think its the Soul Drinkers check them out).

If you want the "respect" of fluff bunnies I'd make these changes:

-They are not from the 2nd Lost Legion rather their true origins are unknown bur rumors and slander suggest they very well might be from the 2nd lost legion

-The Spider Chapter Master is kinda out there if you want to remain loyalist, maybe have him kill himself to save the Chapter when he realizes the horrible mutated monster he has become (i kinda think you are doing this since he dies 20 days after, but having him go out in battle could be a better idea)

-Revolve your tactical layout around Spiders IE 8 man squads, 8 companies in the chapter.

-Add extra legs and arms to Chapter Leaders with bionics and such

-Buy tons of spider bits form Warhammer Fantasy to use as trophies

-Use the space wolf codex, and model Space Marines riding giant spiders of doom, you just have too

But overall I think it's a cool idea and I don't mind the scheme, I'd just drop the whole they are the real 2nd legion thing, remember everything in 40k is taken with a grain of salt. So you can totally suggest that your guys are the fabled lost legion (incorporating a ton of pre heresy armor would help) without outright saying they are.

I agree with this for the most part but this is where we break down a bit.
1) He has asked us what we think of it which implies he wants feedback of some kind.
2) He has made attempts to fit it into the 40k universe. If you're going to do that you may as well try to have it fit properly or if you don't care you might as well go full on bonkers and give everyone lightsaber arms or something.

Shtako, I'm new to this! Still, thanks for your honesty; I'll keep in mind of all of your posts. Oh, but yeah, replacing models & such is out of the picture. I'm 13- I don't have a job! And remember that I'm not writing a story! Also, iirc, Games Workshop did that little two lost legion thing for fun! Lots of people have their SMs one of the two.

Oh, no, I meant that it's a secret chapter, kind of like how Grey knights brainwash your brain if you fought alongside them. They use technology from the dark ages (40k dark ages) that hides their planet from (post-post-post-post-post...)modern sensory and actual sight. ...yeah, still working on that. Also, they are a bit technophobic (Except for their 9th and 10th company) but there are actually some that show their spider-love so much, they bring giant (well, fenrisian wolf-sized) spiders into battle! Your ideas are so AWESOME!
