Hello again, after a long haul we've managed to get issue 34 out! We've added in some extra planned content in advance to make up for lost time, so this month's issue comes in at 93 pages.

For those of you that don't know us, we're a small team of about 3/4 people that produce this magazine, dedicated to painting and sculpting miniatures. We currently have a focus on 28-90mm fantasy and sci-fi miniatures, but we are happy to consider things outside of those if you're interested!

Basically, we scour the web and contact painters we like and companies we like to either pick their brains, review their products and hopefully provide a bit of a platform for those smaller up and coming companies out there. We aim to release once a month, but we're currently a very small team that do this in our spare time so things don't always go to plan. The best feature is that the magazine is free, so you can give it a cursory glance through and if nothing takes your interest, you've not lost out! We'd like to think you'd find something in there though!

Also, should you have any ideas for a particular article, or have a company in mind you'd like us to do a feature on, or even just want a tutorial about something you've always wondered how to do, then contact us either on here use the email: portaleditor@wampforum.com

In the issue we've got...

- An interview with Michael Kontraros and his painting partner Chris Panagiotou, as well as a sneak preview of his next sculpt (they are the team behind the excellent Elf Dragon Prince)
- Painting a display base and adding the finishing touches
- How to paint freehands on large busts (based on Forged Monkey's Knucklehead model, and painted by Meehan34 on these forums -he's posted the finished work in the painting section)
- Reviews of Painting Buddha series 1.1 and Stephane Simon's Lucius and Elrick
- An unboxing of Carmine's (Thor14) excellent Paul Bonner sculpt
- A detailed look at the French fantasy painting scene, with lots of (possibly) new forums to visit and shops to spend hard-earned hobby funds at! The article also includes brief insights from various top painters on each other's work.
- A chat with Marrow Productions about their new 'Journey' project
- Lots of photos of miniatures from Wamp's gallery over the last couple of months

and probably some other things we've forgotten!

Hope this makes a nice addition to your weekend, and it's free, so at least give it a chance...

Note- we've had some feedback about people having an error when downloading, so please can you send us a private message if you have a problem just so we can keep tabs on it.

Thank you for your support!

Just a thought, anyone with a recommendation for a pdf reader that's not incredibly slow with an image heavy file?

I'm using a windows OS on a laptop and though I'm enjoying the content of the magazine it's a bit a drag getting through it all as it stutters, stops and starts. xD

Thank you stranger (what a great username by the way!), I think we may have to let people know about that!

Glad you're all enjoying the content, feel free to let us know if there's anything you'd like to see in a future issue as well (via PM preferably).

Apparently if you get an error, the trick is to keep trying, and generally happens with mobiles/tablets. Not being technically minded, I have no idea why this happens!

So, update time!

Thanks for all those who've downloaded, we've hit the 3,000 monthly target so very happy with that, and long may it continue! Please help spread the word in any tiny corners of the internet you happen to visit...

As a thank you, we've got something to give back! When chatting to Marrow Productions for the interview in the magazine, we happened to win a draw on their page for some art cards. Well, they decided to send us 50 pairs of Journey art postcards. To celebrate the final days of their kickstarter, we're giving these cards away on our Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/portalmagazine

All you have to do is like or share the photo of the 2 postcards (we'll be doing daily updates, so just keep your eyes peeled!)

And to whet your appetite for issue 35, here's a photo of one of the tutorials from the next issue!

Very excited to announce that we have a tutorial from David Rodriguez (of multiple GD UK demon winning fame) and a third tutorial from Adam Halon (aka Loler), who picked up his first demons at the German Games Day this summer. Not sure if you're interested in previews of those...
