Ok, so further to more fluff reading, my list has taken on a different shape again, I want some advice in how fluffy this is, and how well it may or may not fair against other armies. My primary opponents are tau and blood angels. The tau player is a farsight one and has nothing but battle suits and 2 riptides. The blood angels player is MAD on death company. I've not tailored, but want to know what people think.

Remember, it's supposed to be iyanden fluffy!

Possibly one of the lowest numbers in a 2K eldar list. Not sure how they'll fair, BUT there is 5 MC's! Let me know all thoughts!

The dire avengers, while fluffy for iyanden, are out if place in this list. Drop them for a Small jetbikes unit and upgrade 1 unit of wraithguard as wraith blades with axes/shields to tank for your other chars.


Also, you don't really need a Farseer in this list, either, he won't add too much to your list-unless you really want to try for fortune/prescience. Spirit mark should be good enough, for the most part. Getting another serpent for a WG squad would be helpful.

Then if you don't take shuriken cannon on your serpents but only holofields on 2 of them, you can actually buy a 3rd serpent or more wraithguard for your "bunker" or more war gear and such.

Other than that, 5 MC in a list like this would be fun, though somehow dropping the SL wraith lord for another WRaithknight might be better. Wraithknights make a good distraction unit and can wreck face pretty hard .

The avengers are fluffy, as is the Farseer, hence why they're in the list. The avengers are essentially the farseers bodyguard. I did have them in a squad of 10 with a serpent, but I had to lose a wraith lord for that. That's why 1 of them has 2 SL. I need some form of horde control other than the scythes. Though I do want more serpents. But I had to decide what I wanted more, MC's or serpents, and since so many people play serpent spam I wanted to avoid that! I only have one with the scythes because they really need it!

Well, if you want to make a sub-par list and keep it sub-par then by all means more power to you.

You will likely give up first blood and slay the warlord every game if you keep your Farseer in a 5 man dire unit...I know I would take that unit out first chance I get and any respectable army has the firepower to do it, but your choice. Wraith blades make a good bunker for characters, that is one reason they are good... I don't see how 5 t3 4+/5++ models are better for your warlord than 5 t6 3+/4++ fearless models...

You can even take the auto-pass look out sir item for extra survivability.

Ultimately, if you really wanted to max out on MCs, this list is not the way to go about it.

I don't want to "max out" on monstrous creatures, I want a relatively fluffy list, as the OP stated. And sub par is purely opinionated. The avengers and the Farseer are fluffy, and that's why they are included. Their survivability concerns me, as you have pointed out I think they may become target number one every game, but I'm not sure what to drop to counter that. The lords, wraith seer, and knight add so much mayhem to the list I think it's a mistake to drop one. I'd love another wave serpent for them for protection, but I don't have the points and it would limit the farseers powers. As for exchanging the avengers for wraithblades, there is a 65 point difference! I don't have extra 65 points!

Khaine, looks good to me. Obviously there are more competitive options, but as far as a playable army for Iyanden...this seems right on.

My only concern is the single Wave Serpent with the rest of the army walking. Sure it is something for heavy weapons to shoot at over the MCs...but it just seems out of place. I'd either find a way to do more Serpents or none. Target priority is too easy against that list with the Serpent included.

Ok, so the way I see it, I think there is maybe two ways I can go with this, add in a wave serpent or drop one....

So the first list involves dropping the serpent, going for no serpents at all, not massively keen on this as I already own one (one of the few eldar models I own already!) I also drop the D-Scythes for normal cannons and the wraith forge stone for the guardian helm. I also increase the avengers to 10 in total, and gain a unit of 5 wraithblades with axes. I can put the Farseer in with the blades for protection, and even throw a spiritseer in their for added speed! The other spirit seer can walk with the other sp3 squads of guard with cannons. The avengers add some infantry shredding firepower, and although they are on foot, they are now 10 models with a 5++ and have battlefocus with a better range.

The other option is to drop the Wraithseer and d-scythes, and for that I gain a serpent for the avengers, totalling 2 serpents. The Farseer drops the stone for the guardian helm. And I gain the same squad of wraithblades with axes for the seers protection. That loses me a MC, but I still have 4 and 2 serpents.

Thirdly, I can jus keep the list as it is :-S

OR! Increase the Avengers to 10, give them the serpent, take the scythes off and give them axes for the seer. Drop his wraith forge stone and give him the guardian helm. I keep all my MC's, I get to use a serpent, the avengers have survivability, and the Farseer can sit in with the blades!

You can tweak it from here, Wraithlords have under performed for me but I've heard good reviews from other people. I wanna try out a list with everything wraith kinda similar to this, good luck

Spend some time lurking through the forums and look for tactics and tournament list threads

Bigger units of wraithguard work better, because the Wraithseers FnP only effects one unit, as will the Spiritseers buffs. If one unit has a 2+ and FnP and one unit has nothing, what will he shoot at? Don't give him the choice. Swap one unit of 5 wraithguard to make the other unit a unit of 7 wraithguard, add the Spiritstone of Anath'lan so you can cast a power as well as Voice and then add a unit of 3 jetbikes with a shuri cannon.

I understand the Farseer is a wanna be Iyanna but couldn't you put her in with the Wraithguard? Those Dire Avengers just present an easy target in an army full of T6+ 3+ save monstrosities.You could swap them for 5 rangers and give each one of your wraithlords a Ghost glave or add an extra wraithguard. Just an option.

you could keep first list, just find points to give the 5 man suqad a wave serpent. And drop all upgrades from the dire avengers. that way, its still competitve.

i like the 1st list, all expet the 5 man dire avenggers, but that^^ solves the problem
