I need a unit of 4+ armor. some kind of space marine perferably cheap as possible. I need to trick out a acolyte unit for my gk. I need a good base to build on. I am normally a eldar player so I dont know much about any of the space marine chapters.

Scouts - 55 points for 5 men. Snipers at 1p per man, Camo Cloaks (1+ cover) for 2 points. Another 55 points for a 10 man squad.

I needed help to build my army. I should have said dollar cheap. Acolytes are not sold by gw with their loadout for gk. So I need to built them from other units in other armies. The local gw store was trying to talk me into stern guard. what I need is a unit the has flak armor and boltgun or storm bolter and hopefully a chain sword. Although I dont need the sword. I need a lot of units. So I was hoping there was a unit who would have at least the first two for the cheapest dollar per model.

I'm not familiar with GK, but what you are asking is a little confusing. In your first post, you ask for something with a 4+ armor save. This is carapace armor, found on scouts and some IG elites (stormtroopers, Karskin?) In your second post, you ask for flack armor, which is the lame 5+ stuff issued to IG line troops.

4+ with a bolter is easy, get a box of SM scouts

5+ with a bolter is a lot harder. IG troops would make for a good base, but you will need guns from elsewhere. While the sternguard box is an excellent source for bits, if all you want is bolters/stormbolters you could probably get them cheep via bits sites or trading with friends. Most marine players who have been playing for any length of time should have a handful of bolters in their bitzbox. Stormbolters are going to be harder to come by, but you can get them in the sternguard kit and the commander kit from SM. As they are not a very good option to equip either of those guys, they often go straight from the sprue to the box.

Go with space marine scouts. They have two different variations snipers and bolters/cc weapons. They are 5 per box and are 25 bucks brand new. Go to ebay to try and see if you can get them in bulk for a decent price.
