Kharth goes to war

Okay. Playin my first actual against other grown-ups game of 40k in a store this week. This is the army in bringing:

Overlord (SW, RO, SoL)
With royal court: Destruction (EL, GoF), Despair (VoD, AS), Storm (VS, LF)

Destroyer Lord (SW, MSS)

10 Tesla Immortals (overlord, destruction)

5 Warriors (and storm)
In a Night Scythe

9 Warriors (and despair)

6 Wraiths (4 with coils - DL with these)

2 Anihilation Barges

1 Doomsday Arc

Please don't tell me to get more flyers. I have 3 more scythes on order but they won't be here, assembled and painted by Wednesday so... Just load out thoughts, and structure of units.

I also have Nem Z, VO, 5 Lychguard, 10 more warriors and a C'Tan. But this is what I was thinking of bringing...

Oh. And I have 6 scarab bases.

Any thoughts on tactics for a newbie (deployment?!?!?) greatly appreciated.

Wicked Canoptek Wraith

This list is kind of all over the place. Let me see...

I wouldn't put the destruction with the immortals. Lanceteks are good at taking out vehicles and high strength targets, whereas tesla immortals are good for infantry, so one of their shots is going to be wasted.

It's probably not good to have just 1 squad of wraith. They're tough as nails, but your opponent will probably focus them down before they get anywhere, which is why people usually bring 2 or 3 squads. However, since you don't have any more, you'll have to improvise.

Thought 1: stick the overlord and the lychguard in one of the nightscyth, and maybe deep strike the wraiths. if the reserve roll works out they could arrive at the same time as the wraiths and force your opponent to split his fire.

Thought 2: stick Zandrek with the immortals and the despairtek, put Oberon with the lychguard. Then deep strike the immortals, the wraiths, and the lychguard with no scatter. Not sure what point level your at, but it could be fun.

The key to strategy is not to choose a path to victory, but to choose so that all paths lead to a victory.

War is beautiful because it establishes man’s dominion over the subjugated machinery by means of gas masks, terrifying megaphones, flame throwers, and small tanks. War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamt-of metalization of the human body. War is beautiful because it enriches a flowering meadow with the fiery orchids of machine guns. War is beautiful because it combines the gunfire, the cannonades, the cease-fire, the scents, and the stench of putrefaction into a symphony.
