After a great run in 2012 (1st place) and a decent showing in 2013 (6th place), we are aiming for the top once again. This year the team will be exclusively open to the public, whoever feels they are good enough to participate in the ETC (European Team Championships), please step forwards.
The first stage in the application, is simply stating that you are interested. To do this, please either sign up to our forums on teamengland40k.co.uk or email myself at alexflyf@hotmail(dot)co(dot)uk. I didn't write the dots as I will end up with spam messages haha!
The next stage will be to try and pop down to some of the national events so we can see howyou perform. We don't expect you to win every tournament you attend, 6th edition not only relies on skill & list building, but match-ups and a fair ammount of luck. The main reason for this is to see you face to face, how you perform and your attitude towards the game.
The next stage is coming to our practise weekends. This is fairly important as it allows us all to play against you, test out new builds & most importantly, build team relationships (like mine & Andy Humphries man love).
I'm happy to announce the 2014 Team England Practice Weekenders will be held at Dreamlike Gaming, Mansfield. Dreamlike have provided us with multiple dates, and anyone applying to the team should try and make as many of these as possible, showing not just commitment, but determination to become the best they can, against some of the best players available.
The dates are as follows:
- 19th-20th October 2013
- 22nd-23rd Febuary 2014
- 12th-13th April 2014
- 12th-13th July 2014 (after list submission, team will be picked before this date)
- 26th-27th July 2014 (after list submission, team will be picked before this date)
As you can all see, there are a fair amount of weekends available. I hope all those interested in the team, or even those who would like to test out their lists/show some support to the team can make it down.
On behalf of Team England 40k, good luck and we hope to meet some new faces!
