Currently I am playing Khador & Circle and now I am looking for a new Faction. I really would like to play a lot of medium bases and since ManOWar are too slow to be of any use as an army backbone unit I´d like to try a new army.

Well, trolls are all heavy infantry...so that's the first thing that comes into my mind. Of course I'd be careful what i wish for, since I've heard horror stories of troll armies tripping all over themselves since they take up so much board space.

I hear Skorne does heavy melee well.

Best medium based infantry are Trolls and Gators.

Skorne. Because they run Gators better than anyone!, including Gators. Plus they have the pretty darn nice Cetratii, Arcuarii, and Incindiarii.

Definitely Skorne. Not only are their infantry better than everyone elses (especially with Makeda's buffs), but they come in larger units to boot.

Convergence runs Recipricators pretty well, but those are not out in a while and they aren't that big a focus for the Faction.

Gatormans with Skorne and their Cataphract stuff are pretty good from all I hear.

And stuff.

Convergence heavy infantry in general seems pretty cool, and there's a theme list built entirely around taking medium base infantry. That said, the best way I can describe Convergence is an entire faction made out of Menoth jacks (i.e. completely average models that might have cool abilities, but access to awesome support pieces).

Is there a viable way to run Menoth infantry heavy? I like the models but I dislike the Jacks :-/
And what about Scyrah? I haven´t seen any heavy infantry there...

Currently skorne are the kings of heavy infantry. 3 different pieces, Xerxis as a the caster and away you go. You can even run gators well.

There's a list out there somewhere with 28 heavy infantry models that does fairly well with skorne.

Absolutely. Protectorate have very good infantry and great buffs. Errants, bastions, zealots, and flameguard are all solid units.

And what about Scyrah? I haven´t seen any heavy infantry there...

Ret has no medium-based infantry. They are an infantry-centric faction but they play small bases.

The main infantry heavy Menoth list is eKreoss's theme force. Only 1 warjack typically(Kreoss's pet the Fire of Salvation) and then you just spam as many weapon masters as you can cram into the list. 3ish units of KE, a unit of Errants with UA, some Bastions, and a couple Seneshals.

Well, as circle you could add some Skinwalkers with UA. I've found them to be a terrific medium base unit. Then just add eMorv and keep one back out of command---and bring the entire unit back when needed.

Also, as stated, Posse always pull their weight.

Trolls run alot of infantry lists. Almost all of their infantry are on medium bases but they arent heavy infantry in that, they do not all have multiple wounds or hard hitting weapons.

Champions and Warders are quite good in their own right. So are Fennblades, buffed or not. Trolls may not be able to really make heavy infantry good, but they can make them survive easily enough to deliver the pain the turn after, or chew thru pretty much whatever.
