Anybody out there try a game of X-Wing with Scrolling Terrain?
Remember the Gorka Morka rules for the terrain that moved across the board in one a direction?
We played a game using a variation of those rules last week and it was a BLAST!!
The terrain moves 6" across the board at the end of each game turn. It moves straight towards one table edge and the opposite table edge is called the "leading edge". They can collide with models.
If a ship collides roll its Agility - If there are any evades, move the ship to avoid the object...if the object can clear the ship, then leave the ship alone. I the object wouold occupy the ships base, move the ship the forward or backward on the table enough to clear the object and at the same time avoiding another ship or object.
If the ship doesnt roll any evades, it rolls an attack die. On any bang result, the ship takes a hit -- that can be soaked by shields. Move the ship backward with the object.
Ships will remain stationary if their direction is less than or equal to 45' perpendicular to the table edge....meaning if a ship is pointing towards the leading table edge it stays where it is, if its nose is more than 45' away from the leading edge, it moves with the terrain.
Give it a run, its a blast!!
It simulates the movement speed of ships in atmospheric flight.
