So I have been gone from this game for many years now and recently have gotten back in. Some people have recently invited me to play a 500 pts game and I have built myself a Tau list. Suggestions for improvement would be welcome. Also this is my first post, forgive my formatting.

Thought process (Correct me if i'm wrong still learning 6th ed and codex):

pathfinders to set up markerlights for better shots
fireblade with firewarriors to be a fireline because of volley shot
broadside for anti vehicles
kroot infiltrate for objective or position (if needed) , target characters and tough units like monstrous creatures. Also for utility like pinning
Suits are for anything, can kill marines, tanks or w/e is needed.

The ATS doesn't do what i think you think it does. It just lets them precision shots on 6s which is kinda meh.

I assume you have two suits 1 with twin linked missile the other twin linked plasma? New FAQ lets you buy individuals so you don't have to twin link so double plasma + Target lock is legal.

I would remove the broadside and switch to another crisis suit with fusions instead so perhaps the squad could be double plasma x2 and double fusions + target lock then deep strike in (but that's my person style)

Actually the crisis suits are both running TLPR, TLMS and ATS. should I just get rid of the 3 ATS I'm running atm and just spend points elsewear? But running double fusion sounds good, I guess I could run that is a situational list

Why no ethereal? Doesn't he actually cost LESS points than the fireblade now? I actually can't remember since in my opinion he outclasses the blade in every possible way.

That said, I could be completely wrong and the fireblade is actually awesome.

Also i've heard this list is gonna go up vs necron, chaos and eldar. Not Sure if this list is gonna do well against these army because I have little experience vs them.

Fireblade is 10points more.

Ethereals are better when there are more units to benefit from it so at low points fireblade is K

Crisis suits only have 3 hard points so no double TL (4 hard points)

My personal for low points with minimum marker light support is to twin link + 1 a weapon. that way you have better hit rates with what little you have. so i would even run the fusion suit alone by deep striking and the two plasma suits in the mid field.

In my original list design, I ran an ethereal, less kroot and 2 squads of 6 firewarriors ( can be 1 sqaud). I want to abuse the Fireblade's max range+extra shot. While the ethereal 3rd spell only allows for half distance.

Does anyone think I should replace the kroot for a squad of warriors. In the last ed they weren't too useful, but they seem better now with the cheap sniper upgrade.
