Horde formation for Witches and a Cauldron.

7 models on the front + Cauldron, or 9 models + Cauldron?

Seeing as it just says its treated as a character, i'd imagine its just a BIG Character that takes the place of 15 but still only counts like 1 model, unlike the Screaming Bell/Plague Furnace.

Thoughts?

Apologies for the poorly worded question... Couldn't think of the best way to get my words across ¬¬...

It is only treated as a character for joining and leaving units. This leads me to believe base size counts toward all it displaces. If that isn't enough, the crew and hag should count for 3 at least.

Unfortunately there are no rules to back that up afaik...

If it is indeed treated like a character, it would count as what it displaces. So 7+ Cauldron.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Is the cauldron a mount for the hag or witch?
What is its model type, inf, cav, etc.?
Brb pg98.
When a character joins a unit if it's footprint is exactly the same size as 2 or more models just displace the models ...
If your character fit...units ranks...filled with rank and file.

Any unit that fits in another counts as the number of models it displaces as long as it is of equals size. I.e if the bases are 20mm you can put in a model with a 40, 60, or 100mm base but not 25mm or 50mm

Yeah 7 wide + Cauldron Character rules are quite clear here if you displace models you count as being the models you displaced.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

but the chariot isn't a character. It can just join units like one.

It's not a character, it behaves as one for unit ranking up and for the effect it has on ranks and formations
Ask any Skaven player, the Bell/Furnace has been working like that for a long time now

Yes, but joining a unit as a character includes those rules.

The SB and PF have that written as part of there rules though. That's why I was confused about the Cauldron, cus it doesn't mention it.

I think those two were in there from the previous edition and also it was necessary because they cannot leave and are bound to the center of the unit.
I am not familiar with the cauldron though since I don't have the book. These are my estimations based on what I have read.

The cauldron is not bound to the unit, but its forced to be in the center of it.

And the Skaven one has not been FAQ'd
