Please note: My goal here is not to convince you whether or not Scrolls of Magnus is effective, but to advise those who may be interested in trying it.
Since I usually don't want to run a Prince just to get Grimoire with my allies, I've found another use for Fateweaver. If he's not saving Ahriman's butt from bad Psychic Test rolls or making sure my Heldrakes/Outflankers arrive, now he's modifying my Scroll rolls. I know that this is nothing clever, and I certainly haven't discovered something powerful.. But it's fun checking it out anyway.
So in the first game, here's what a Chaos Sorcerer with MoTz, Scrolls and Sigil had by turn 7:
Doombolt (Tz)
Turn 1- Inferno (Pyro)
Turn 2- Precognition (Div)
Turn 3- Misfortune (Div)
Turn 4- Gate of Infinity (Telekinesis)
Turn 5- Enfeeble (Bio)
Turn 6- Firey Form (Pyro)
Turn 7- Life Leech (Bio)
Here's the 2nd game:
Doombolt (Tz)
Turn 1- Haemmorage (Bio)
Turn 2- Forewarning (Div)
Turn 3- Iron Arm
Turn 4- Dominate (Telepathy)
Turn 5- Objuration Mechanicum (Telekinesis)
Turn 6- Misfortune (Div)
Turn 7- Scrier's Gaze (Div) - Useless on turn 7.. Used FW's re-roll to try and get something different and rolled Foreboding. Just as bad!)
Very fun. Some wounds were taken, others were avoided (or saved) by Cosmic Cluck. For the most part, I used the re-roll to try and get something other than Tzeentch/Telepathy when possible (ie- if my sorcerer made his Sigil save for the first roll).
Instead of my Grimoire Prince, I'll be using a Scroll sorcerer with some MoTz Terminator babysitters.
