Heya guys!

I just started painting a Iyanden army.. and I am not at all experienced with painting. I picked up the paints in the Iyanden paint set and I am confused on how to apply the layer paints.

For those who don't know.. it has you basecoat.. then put on a wash.. then it has two layers, Yriel Yellow and then Flash Gitz yellow. I am not sure how to apply the layers.. since it seems like it would just cover up the basecoat and wash I just did. I can't find a youtube video using the actual paint set and the videos I see using layer paint just covers everything up.

Can someone give me an idea on how you apply these layers paints?

I think they intend you to leave bits of the washed base coat showing when applying the yriel yellow (the recesses mostly), and use the flash gitz yellow for highlights.

Thinning the paint helps, if you apply it in pretty thin, kinda see through layers, gradually moving back towards the bright spots each coat.
