The plan would be to send in both squads of Sternguard and all of the Ironclads with two heavy flamers on the first turn. The Sternguard would primarily be focused on wiping out vehicles or marines, while the Ironclads wipe out everything lighter than MEQ. In the following turns the fourth Ironclad supports the initial assault while the Tacticals either do the same or focus on taking objectives. The Master of the Forge could try and be useful fixin' up Ironclads. Or whack things with his servo arm.

Also a slightly related question, can the Master of the Forge repair a vehicle while in another squad, and the squad still shoot at something?

Well, its a pretty straightforward list. You'll have to play it smart. No air defense. How to fight MC lists?

I've yet to actually play Marines, but I was always under the impression the 2+ poison special ammo that Sternguards have could wipe the floor with MCs

You'd still be hitting on 6+ though but if you could ground them with something else first they'd probably be toast!

They can, and your list looks freakin scary man. I wouldn't change a thing.

I would drop one Sternguard squad for a cheap tac in a pod. You have 9 pods, so one unit of Sternguard or one Ironclad will have to stay in reserve. If it isn't alpha striking it may as well be a Tactical.

That nets you enough points for a Storm Raven which will hugely fill the gaps in your army without reducing your Alpha Strike.

You still get...

4x Ironclads and a Sternguard squad T1, T2 bring tacticals and a Storm Raven.

My 2cents.

That's definitely not a bad idea, I don't think. I'll keep that in mind, but I really wanted two squads of Sternguard

But, what is the second squad of Sternguard giving you and what are the weaknesses of your list? If you want more Sternguard take them, I'm just suggesting how I would improve the list and I see your lack of AA as a big weakness.
