If I had a Commander with a Drone Controller, attached to a squad of let's say, Firewarriors with Gun Drones, do the Firewarriors Gun Drones get the BS5 of my Commander? I'm not sure where to look for this rule...

Note: The Firewarriors own the Gun Drones, not the Commander. But the Commander has the Drone Controller support system.

Have you looked at the wording for Drone Controller?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

That way,then left

Yes, as long as the commander's joined to the unit the drones will be part "of his unit" and will therefore benefit from the controller. The Independent character special rule might clarify this for you

Yep. The controller affects all marker and gun drones in the unit, but not missile drones.

The key to understanding the answer comes from page 39 of the basic rule book, the section detailing independent characters. The line you are looking for is in the last paragraph on the left hand side, which consists of a single sentence informing you what the relation between a joined independent character and the rest of the unit is.

Thanks guys. I was getting the rules mixed up and thinking that missile drones also had something to do with it. This makes sense. Thank you very much!
