Since going to Adepticon last year to play Fantasy this year I had been looking at maybe doing some 40K with a friend of mine. I read the rules for the team tournament and found myself confused. It is 4 1K lists combined to make the team. A first I thought I was ready this wrong but then when I asked them about it they indeed said that lots of people asked this question and indeed 4 players are needed. Has anyone had experience with this in the past? How did you put the team together? I am from FL and my friend is from VA.

The person from Adepticon that responded said people have used Dakka in the past to get teams together... I was skeptical but figured I'd ask if it has been done and the successes/failures of such endeavors.

You need 4 1000 point lists and 4 players.

You also need to sign up within the first 20 mins of registration, as it will sell out that quickly, if not faster.

4 is needed because you play 2 games each round (2 players in each) and alternate to different partners for subsequent rounds. It's awesome

Just find people, even in other states, that can commit to coming. My teammates are in Minnesota, Indiana, Virginia, and New York.

We just use it as an excuse to go away with buddies for a weekend and get really drunk. We've succeeded for the past 4 years.

The most important thing, by far, for you to pay attention to, is the need to buy a ticket in the first 20 minutes. All 128 sell that fast. There was a wait list 20 deep by an hour in last year, when our team signed up. We eventually got in, but it was a close thing, and it really harms the momentum of putting things together.

Yes for those reason I was hoping to see some kind of post already on the date the site will go live. Its pretty much mid October and we are getting close. I need to make sure I have a good internet connection to sign up where ever I might be traveling ATM the site goes live!!

We are aiming for November 15th for registration. Official announcement should be released on Monday. We should have a more or less final schedule posted around November 1st. We just secured 2 additional halls for all day on Thursday and are working at adding some events.

Thanks for the update, Matthias! Gives me several weeks yet to determine if I can commit to the team tournament (I'm already committed to going to AdeptiCon ).
