Devestating Grey Knight Dreadknight

Just a thought I had, wanted to get some feedback if this would actually be effective. Instead of taking dreadknights/storm ravens, what if I just took more paladins instead?

Draigo
Coteaz (Divination)

10x Paladins (Apothecary, psybolts, 4x psycannons, banner, warding stave)
10x Paladins (Apothecary, psybolts, 4x psycannons, banner, warding stave)
1x Paladin
3x Acolytes (bolters)
3x Acolytes (bolters)

Coteaz joins one group of paladins, draigo the other. I place my objectives in my deployment zone, preferably behind LOS blocking terrain. Acolytes would go to ground on whatever objectives I have, solodin in reserve to deepstrike onto one as well. The two paladin blobs attempt to occupy my opponents objectives.

One blob obviously doesn't get the 3++ tanking, if I'm lucky they'll get a 4++ from forewarning. The biggest issue I see is getting them across the table, and dealing with highly mobile armies that can just jump back and take out my objective holders. Any thoughts?

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

When FnP and the wound allocation stuff was crazy in 5th, Paladinstars were great (as you know). That 5+ FnP is a game changer now.

I have seen a mix of Pure Paladin lists and Storm Raven/DK lists lately. Both army types do alright consistantly. They've lost a few games vs. competitive tau and eldar.

I don't want to say that your idea sucks without being able to play against you with what I use. It certainly doesn't suck at all and it's quite frightening. But I can say that I am not afraid of Paladins as much as Knights and Storm Ravens.

Drop those Apothecaries and beef up your henchman. They will die fast and easy, and then it's all down hill from there. I faced a list similar to this a while back. After turn two my Whirlwind had taken care of his lil 5-man henchman units. After that it was a game of move and shoot between what Paladins he had left and my 30 SS guys.

He has a point. Things that ignore your FnP will just instant kill pallies anyways.. I think the 2 wounds without the Apothecary is good enough to keep them alive for a while. Those henchmen could use more bodies.

FNP is better on a Paladinstar this edition, especially on Draigo's unit. Paladins never died from small arms fire before, but Driago geting FNP against everything and Paladins getting it against Plasma, AP2 CC, Rending, and the new Grav weapons is huge. But, the 2nd star is wasted, keep one, pick up some more scoring, and get a couple of Storm Ravens and you will be in business. Will certainly be a meta buster for the 2++ rerollable crowd(Screamerstar/SeerStar).
