Imperial fortifications are for well... Imperials. They do not fit to Dark Eldar aesthetics (and other 40k races).
Idea was born, studies have been made and I've started with :

series of sketches (last one) :

real size paper model for fortification wall module

3D model and composition of repetition modules

3D print and resin casting were done by www.terrains4games.com (they will also sell those modules)

and last thing for me to do was to paint a real model !

What is Your opinion? Let me know, especially if You play Dark Eldars.

Very stylish! I agree that Imperial fortifications don't appeal to (most) Xeno players, which is one reason I don't bother with them.

Now you're going to have to make a base for your Dark Eldar to operate out of. I don't see them digging in as it were since their primary attack is raiding. But you have to have some place to bring your spoils and slaves. I really like the walls you designed, they would look great with a cool Dark Eldarish base. Can you design and build something like that?

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

@Kelly502. Yes I was thinking about adding Dark Eldar buildings to this project. Maybe something like an Imperial Bastion fortification (in size) for 40k games, maybe something like a group od different buildings, more like a scenery for hobby or apocalypse games. Yes I can propose and design something like this and if approved it can be built.
Mhmmmmm. High, dark, predatory spires with platforms for hellions and scourges. Arena for wytch duels with audiecne seats for Archons. That would be something : D

Those walls look fantastic. Perfect aesthetic fit for the DE. I agree that it would look really great with some other DE buildings- slave quarters, one of their gladiator style arenas, or a chamber of horrors of sorts. Could be a lot of fun to model. Well done.

Nicely done - definitely fits the DE aesthetic better than an Imperial ADL with some curved spikes glued on. I'm seeing exclusively flat shapes, though, that meet at clean right angles or are mounted directly to a face. Any particular reason you went with a 3D print and resin cast over laser cut MDF, since you were going to farm out the production, anyway? Feels like that would be a cheaper production method without affecting the resulting look.

Laser cut MDF would be much more thin than a resin cast or it would require two or three layers of MDF to be glued together to get the same wall thickness. Many laser cut MDF project looks very nice at first glance but don't look solid enough imo.
This model is one piece resin cast (orthogonal pylons-spikes are connected with wall in casting form).

I being TFG but I think the first reply in this thread says it all.

If you need to put one of these on the table as a DE player than ... you're doing it wrong.

There is no such thing as a defensive strategy for the DE. They're only defense is a blitzkrieg style bloody offense!

Well I'm no DE player but if You put fortification on hill then I'm sure You can get a nice cover save for DE vehicles. Also wouldn't it be usefull for Kabalite Trueborn with Splinter cannons?
If there is no defensive strategy for the DE as You say, then why do they wear armour? Defensive wall is the same thing but indeed it would be used only on rare ocassions.
I guess that the only fortifications that this race construct are placed in Commorragh.
