How to? My Flyrants get vector striked to death before they can do much. Demons punk my Tervigons and Trygons. Fateweaver gets a reroll for a failed grounding test. The hell am I supposed to do besides auto lose?

Oddly enough, you have to out shoot them, forcing grounding tests, them swarming them is your best option...those 3-shot gaunts come in handy for this...

flyrants should do fine shooting them up, just dont let them shoot you out of the air first.
Just dont position them close enough to be vector striked until you get to shoot.
also, gargoyle screen.
As per the rule for flyers, they cannot end their move on top of enemy models,
You can litterally flood the field with gaunts and gargoyles and limit their movement.

Gun down fateweaver 1st. warpstorm is far more random and dangerous to deamons without fateweaver around.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

No, ignore Fateweaver until you've killed whoever is keeping the Grimoire up on him. That rerollable 2++ will eat up so many shots it isn't funny. I played a game vs Nids a while back, and had two flyrants dump around 30 shots onto Fateweaver, and he passed every save and the ensuing grounding test. Ask your opponent which character is carrying the Grimoire, then that should be your number 1 target. After you've taken out the Grimoire, now you can kill Fateweaver with much less effort.

Toxin Sacs. Shoot at them until they're grounded them throw poisoned gants and gargoyles at them until they're dead.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.
"Long ago in a distant land, I, M'kar, the shape-shifting Master of Chaos, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Grey Knight warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!" |

My advice was under the assumption the grimoire would be protecting his own unit of 9 screamers or 20 hounds. Time to be more specific.
Never shoot anything with a reollable 2+
If the book buffs fateweaver go after the book's unit while it is vulnerable, if the book protects it's own unit gun down fateweaver.
Don't try to kill flesh hounds, screamers, or fiends while they have a 3++ from the book even if the grimoire is protecting his own unit.

Really really make sure your big gribblies aren't in vector-strike danger. I've killed many a Tyranid beastie in one go with 2-3 striking FMC.

Even if Fateweaver has a 2++ reroll it can be worth pitching a few shots in, once he's grounded a small unit of poison gaunts will make sure if your opponent ever takes the Grimoire off him he's dead and as he's hitting them on 5's he wont break himself out of combat very fast either.
This is one of those weird times where Zoanthrope Warp Lances and Rupture Cannons earn their keep as both are capable of doubling out Prince's and throwing devourer fire around means you should bring at least one down a turn. Handily they are also great weapons for tearing up his beast units.
