I just started an Eldar wraith army and have come up with these two lists. These are meant to be take all comers lists for a casual gaming group.

List 1
HQ
2 Spiritseers

Troops
5 Rangers
5 Wraithguard w/ D-Scythes in Wave Serpent (SL, SC, Holo Field)
5 Wraithguard in Wave Serpent (SL, SC, Holo Field)

Fast Attack
Crimson Hunter

Heavy Support
Wraithknight w/ SL, Suncannon and Shield
Wraithlord w/ 2 Brightlances

The rangers camp on a home objective while the wave serpents spend a few turns firing away at priority targets. The CH is there strictly for anti-air and extra Brightlances if the skies are clear.

List 2
HQ
Farseer
Spiritseer

Troops
5 Dire Avengers in Wave Serpent (SL, SC, Holo Field)
5 Dire Avengers in Wave Serpent (SL, SC, Holo Field)
10 Wraithguard

Fast
Crimson Hunter

Heavy
Fire Prism
Wraithknight w/ SL, Suncannon and Shield

This is a slight variation that puts the wraith guard on foot. The farseer and spirit seer accompany that blob of WG. I want to keep the Fire Prism close enough to the Farseer to take advantage of Guide. I'm thinking with the Fire Prism and the knight dropping templates plus the wave serpent shooting will force my opponent to leave the WG on foot alone for a few turns while I get close.

I'd love your thoughts on these lists. Is there any glaring weaknesses in them? Anything I am missing?

Both lists are quite nice. I question the need for the Suncannon in either list. A Suncannon and SL is 60 points on top of what is an awesome model when run stock. Plus you gave the templates from the scythes and the prism template should the need arise.

The 10 blob on foot could be a problem, unless you get some lucky psychic rolls, the guard are tough, but they're 3+ armour isn't very durable anymore. Axe wielding blades offer a 4++ across the board! but you do lose range and strength. To that end, what dex are you running? Plain eldar or Iyanden?

Thanks for the reply! The plan is to run Iyanden so I can battle focus the WG and close to range quicker.

Good point about the cost of the suncannon, I like the twin linked aspect when paired with a scatter laser because then I don't need to support it with the farseer as much. Also, that suncannon is brutal on MEQ units that I run across.

Dropping that frees up some points, do you have any suggestions where to go with them?

I'm interested to hear what units best support wraith armies. I have warp spiders, striking scorpions, and war walkers that I have not tried mixing in yet.

it will give you 60 points, in your list there is a chance the lord and the knight will be targeted quickly. In the Iyanden book you get the option of the wraithforge stone for one of your seers. Its expensive at 30 points, but allows you to heal a wound on the lord or knight each turn. Its on a 3+ role, but can be really useful.

You could upgrade the crimson hunter to an exarch. Bs5 with 4 S8 hits are very nice. And if you give him Marksmans eye then you are precision hitting on 5&6, potentially instant killing multi wound toughness 4 models! Thats all 60 points spent!

As for variations, the two favourite aspects outside of troops is warp spiders and swooping hawks. both are fantastic at what they do, My preference is spiders. Their speed is epic! And their weapons aren't half bad either at taking out most infantry.

hope that helps dude.
