How does this look and how viable is it?

I would drop the flamers on the Veteran Squad in lieu of something that uses their BS4. Maybe drop the sponsons on the LRBT and use those points to buy a Chimera or extra weapons for that squad. And, in my experience, invest in krak grenades. Can't tell you how many times I've been charged by a Chaos beasty and have been unable to wound him. Cheap upgrade that's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Yes drop the sponsons on the russ, If you havent read yet go on gw's site and check out the IG FAQ. leman russes dont have lumbering behemoth they are just heavy now. So they cant move faster than 6" and they can fire all weapons BUT the battle cannon is ordnance which means everything else will have to snap fire if the battle cannon is fired. So you're paying 20pts for bs1 heavy bolters, sounds like a waste to me.

Heavy flamers are also so over costed on a guardsmen. Only ever take a regular flamer. But since you should drop the Heavy bolter sponsons on the russ you will have points to upgrade these guys weapons.

Now you will have a solid force.
