If a lord with the mark of khorne, who is leading a squad of berserkers (making them a troops choice) gets turned into a daemon prince by way of dark apotheosis...do the berserkers still count as 'troops' or revert to elites?

According to the FAQ, Yes, they are still troops.

If it didn't work that way; if it did you would have a situation where you would be fielding an illegal army through no action of your own.

That begs the question; What if the Skull champion became a DP? Would he remain a troops choice and be able to score objectives?
