I believe the answer is yes, but I wanted to check.

From the latest faq:

Page 48 – Sanguinary Priests, Blood Chalice.
Change first sentence to: “All friendly units chosen from Codex:
Blood Angels within 6" are subject to the Furious Charge and
Feel No Pain special rules”.

So, if I take a unit of BA assault marines with a Sanguinary Priest, and I add a buffed Space Marine Chapter Master to the unit, will he also benefit from FnP ? He is technically not a 'unit chosen from the Codex:Blood Angels', but he is an IC that is part of a "unit chosen from the Codex:Blood Angels".

Thanks!

Is the IC a "friendly unit chosen from Codex: Blood Angels"?

Yes he will, because he is part of the unit, and whole unit gains FNP.

I don't know. I can go either way on this one. While he is part of the unit, FnP is not a pass around special rule so just bein in the unit with a model that has it wont help. Now I get that that every model in the unit thats in range gets the special rule, but I'm not convinced that the unit is still a friendly unitss chosen from Codex: Blood Angels ". As the CM is part of the unit and NOT chosen from Codex: Blood Angels. Does that matter is the question. If it does his pressence will prevent then entire unit from gaining the special rules, if it does not then they all get it for sure.

While attached to a unit, an IC is considered to be a normal member of the unit for all rules purposes.

If they did not want allied ICs to be affected they would have worded it thusly:
'All friendly units that only contain models from this codex..."

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

You attach the sang priest to an allied unit amd none would get it for the same reason I suppose.
