Greetings everybody.
I am starting up a Marine Chapter of my own. They will be called the Dread Scorpions (still not sure about the name, post name ideas below) and I am using FW Red Scorpions parts for their pads, tank doors etc.
They will have their own colours being a different chapter though. I started with sybarite green and I thought it would be fine (I haven't painted any yet). Then I went to sleep one night and had a dream, or nightmare perhaps where my Marines had all been painted but in temple guard blue or what my brain thinks temple guard blue is. When I awoke I found that I loathed the idea of sybarite green on my Marines (still like the colour though) I wanted temple guard blue instead, or perhaps something that resembles it..... Basically I want turquoise or blue green and temple guard blue may fit the bill.
However I am unsure of how temple guard blue actually looks when it is applied. I know the GW site has a picture but can I trust it and it looks really blue in the pot. Does anyone out there have any pictures of models with this colour on them (preferably Marines). Any comments will be very helpful.
Any help will be much liked.

Test models dude, simple as that. Buy one of those cheapo snap fit marine boxes and try a few things.
Use a white undercoat if you're after a really vibrant colour though, black will show through imperceptibly and take the edge off the brightness.

as Azrael said, do it on a test model first.

an alternative to buying snap fits may be to look on ebay, low price for some bogstandard assembled tacticals that you can strip and ruin with test schemes without feeling guilty

Thanks Bobug. No guilt is good. Guilt is what weaklings feel when they run out of excuses for their mistakes! What I am planning is to go to my GW shop and look helpless, even though they know I'm a good painter. I will get them to cough up the introduction beginners Marines for me to work on. Stick my nose in their paint-box too, no need to buy un-needed paints! Yet.
