so tried making several lists and they all seemed to have to many weak points so after browsing the IntErneT i found a list of weak units
so using that i made a quick list to show you i tried... and failed

hey I would take nurgle soul grinders they are better shooty with phemg than tzeentch, or slaanesh soulgrinders with flamer torrent. Also put fateweawer on grimoare buff. If you wana run Karanak i would include Bloodcrushers.
Flesh haunds are good pick almost vs every army, but i think this list need more anti vehicle. If you dont wana fateweaver or LoC bloodthirster would be good. Also screamers are AV.

use fateweaver, daemon princes as heavy support, pink horrors and plague bearers as troops, and another greater daemon as your second .Gwen and you'll profit

why would karanak fare better in bloodcrushers?

Well, for starters the list you have there is unfortunately illegal at 1000pts. The Masque is not one of the chosen few special characters that fit with the 4-herald per HQ slot thing so as of right now you would be filling 3 HQ slots. I would therefore drop her.

Karanak fares better with Bloodcrushers because of scout. It gives a now mediocre unit a chance to close the gap between the enemy before the game and increase their potential. He also grants a Locus of Fury so there's no need to add a herald which is nice.

If you are running a GUO, I would also suggest going double greater reward rather than 1 exalted. The potential to have a super durable warlord is never something I pass up and it's probably the best way to run the GUO.

5 hounds probably won't cut it either. At 1000pts I would run them as a group of 10+ or not at all.

As of right now you have a lot of points sunk into HQ slots and not a whole lot in anything else. You have the bare minimum for troops, and for the troops you've picked units of 10 don't do too well for either bloodletters or daemonettes.

I don't know what you have to work with so I will throw out some suggestions. Drop the Grinder and use his points for more hounds. Drop skulltaker and the Masque. Put karanak in with a large unit of hounds. Trade out your bloodletters and daemonettes for two units of plague bearers to sit on objectives. Your offensive units in this list will then be your GUO and your hound unit (from 15-20 hounds). with the remaining points you could run a 20-man squad of daemonettes (if you're running 15 hounds you'll have the points). This might work well as another offensive unit. While you lack the points for a herald this is by far your best choice to be able to keep up with the hounds and compared to bloodletters I feel they are more reliable when you're running them naked (no pun intended).

Also, if you really want to add some more punch, you can always exchange the GUO for a Bloodthirster. You loose out on some nice psychic powers, but you make up for it with a very mobile, very killy HQ.

If you think fateweaver was bad then you misused him. He's single handedly the reason our book is competitive in the tourney scene. having prescience with 4 d6 heavy bolter shots, rerolling the warp storm and rerolling a single d6 of your choice per player turn is disgustingly awesome. Have the grimoure?! Fail the roll? Boom reroll. Need your reserves? Fail the roll? Boom reroll. Perils on a psychic test? Boom reroll. Not to mention being able to reroll grounding tests on your opponents turn is huge.

Fateweaver is pretty much the only thing in the army that's an auto include.

It really depends on what you have and what you're willing to put in. Net lists will be competitive, but I don't like to go with the usual net list so mine probably wouldn't be considered as "competitive" as others.

I'm personally not a fan of Fateweaver (more due to the fact I don't like Tzeentch than his actual rules which are pretty good). That said, I've still won games without him and I play more for fun than competitively. The thing that I like about the new daemons is that theme and fluff lists are a lot more forgiving and can be a lot more competitive than some other codexes, which is nice.

But you're looking for something competitive. While I find them boring, you can't go wrong with the Fateweaver Flying circus net list. Just play around with what you've got and find what works for you and your meta honestly is the best advise I've got for you since not all metas are the same.

Great piece of advice. I see casual demons players win against (good) competitive opponents. Find what you like.
