So i came up with a trolltastic list to mess with a friend who currently has no AA,
and is this list competitive.
also I was wondering if a list this trolly is actually legal

Even if it wasn't illegal, he wouldn't need AA, just enough firepower to kill your one unit in one turn...

I thought that according to the rules units and those inside them, that MUST start in reserves do not count towards the 1/2 limit,
and therefore since all of my Transports MUST start in reserves they, and the units inside them do not count towards the rule.

You're correct.

Best way to avoid turn 1 tabling is to add another Overlord, give them both 2+/3++ and mindshackle scarabs. Then you can put them in front of your Warriors and tank wounds.

It's still a bit of a silly list, though. Why not just go for the standard Wraithwing silliness? 3x6 Wraiths, 2 Destroyer Lords w/ 2+, mindshackles, and as many units of 5 Warriors in Nightscythes you can afford.

Why would you want to troll your friend?

And yes, its legal. But your one unit needs to survive.
If you really want to be lame and play with this many flyers (you own this many flyers?) then at least add a couple small Scarab units or something with the remaining points to hide away and not lose on first turn.

I actually have 12 Necron flyers- I got them dirt cheap

I have run the Wraithwing many times before and won with that tactic

I just buy a bunch of flyer bases and bake a couple of batches of croissants and put them on the bases (a judge has let me do this before and it was quite the fun tourney) and when an enemy kills one he can eat the delicious croissant

I've seen similar lists, but the only unit that starts on the table is usually a unit of scarabs behind and ADL. Pretty much completely out of line of sight AND manning a comms relay. Other variants with ABs started one or more of them on the board as well.

Just hope your opponent is running an alpha strike Pod army. Or you don't fail a moral test and run off the board.

Its legal so long as your overlord, warriors, or both start on the board. But, by the end of Game turn 1 if your opponent can kill them you lose.

I would have thought (though I really am just wondering aloud) that runnIng this many flyers at once is going to be a bit awkward for you with minimum distance and all I can imagine some of them leaving the table again early doors, no?

LOL. You can almost create a double circle of the ADL with the scarabs and comm relay inside. That would push a drop pod out to the edge of flamer range in most cases. It is going to be very hard for them to get LOS for shooting or charging.

Yet, I have to say... you give Necron a bad name.

Try IG or Ork allies... they have lots of bodies, and can also hold objectives fairly well...
