Hello to everyone at the forums- I'm a 29 year old teacher from Oak Lawn, IL who just recently got into the hobby with a force of Ultramarines. 40k is something I've wanted to play since I was 12, but I never had the money or the time.
I'm not a very good painter or modeler, but I like the other fluffy bits of the hobby...all my marines are named, and I always make a note of the casualties and commendations. So far I've got an assault sergeant who's survived every battle he's been a part of, and has killed (to date) a Dreadknight, a chaos terminator champion, and a Necron Monolith. Definitely putting him in the honor guard.
I know my area has some players, but so far I haven't been very good at finding them. I have a board of my own at my house, and my very crafty girlfriend has been helping me make terrain. Give me a PM if you're from the area and are looking for a game.
