Here are the results of my first new Deathwing Squad. I say 'new' because although I have been playing Dark Angels for ten years I haven't really gotten good at painting until the past few years. These are the first new models for revamping the army for 6th edition. Hope you like them!

TH/SS "bodyguard" - I think I am going to re-paint the Thunder Hammer because I am unhappy with the lightning effect. Probably going to do it in a similar style to the Sergeant's power sword.

Sergeant - I may add lightning effects to the power sword and a varnish to make it look less matted. Thoughts?

This is the quality that I want all of my remaining Ravenwing and Greenwing models to strive for. The HD camera picks up all of the (numerous) flaws but from about 1 foot away these guys look stellar on the tabletop, in my opinion. Let me know what you think!

I like the white instead of tan. Clean paint job.

The Riptide can't be a giant death robot, its completely lacking a sword or massive chainsaw. All giant death robots have swords or massive chainsaws.

I like the muted effect on the Power Sword. Then again, I use a fairly flat gloss black on a lot of my Chaos weapons.

I like the white a lot too. Not that the tan is bad per se. Just reminds me of this baby (from before my time, but I still appreciate it) Trying to emulate the scheme a little bit on the new models Makes them stand out a bit more next to all these Dark Vegeance kits people are popping around with.

I find that they sometimes look a little bit "chalky" due to the ceramite white color, but from the distance the pics are being taken they look good I guess. I am dreading doing it on a Land Raider when I get one x___x

Could you elaborate on the gloss effect you use? If they make colored/tinted varnishes that could be very useful, especially if they have a sort of purple/purple blue or purple/red color. The only gloss I have contains alcohol (a friend found it for me in his basement from a long time ago) and will dissolve paint if applied (found that out the hard way )
