Lhykosidae, the Wraith Spider
Lhykosidae is a myth to all but the most senior Warp Spider Exarchs, simply a ghost that flicks into and out of reality as he choses bring swift death to the enemies of his people. While he is a shadow to other craftworlds, rarely appearing and even rarer to acknowledge his deeds, he seems to have an affinity with the minor craftworld of Kaelor, and appears every few centuries unheralded to bring peace to a usually warring craftworld. Lhykosidae can step over the boundaries of the immaterium as easily as a eldar would cross a door, appearing in a wisp of warp light and disappearing just as fast, leaving trails of slaughtered aliens. Very rarely he would some times he appears unheralded upon a craftworld on the edge of war, bringing with him a cliché of warp spiders that speak only in thoughts and never remove their helmets. He is a mystery to many, but there are people who know thr truth, why they hide it is any bodies guess.
Ws 8 Bs 8 S 4 T 4 I 8 W 3 A 4 Ld 10 Sv 2+ 225points.
Unit Type: Jetpack Infantry (Character)
Wargear: Phoenix Armour, Master-crafted power blades, Warp Jump Generator (How could I forget!)
Special Rules: Ancient Doom, Battle Focus, Fearless, Fleet, Independent character, Eternal Warrior, SoulFire, Void Stalker.
SoulFire: All Phoenix Lords burn with an inner fire and when viewed with warp sight they appear as shining entities of pure SoulFire. Each Phoenix Armour is akin to a miniture infinity circuit, each housing thousands of Eldar souls, creating a deep well of psykic power to call upon when needed so that even to a Lord not skilled in the arts of the Seer can deflect crippling psykic blows.
Grants Adamantium Will USR. When a Deny the Witch attempt is successful any enemy psykers, daemons (As defined in the Grey knight Faq) or Eldar within 12'' must make a Blind Test as if they where hit with a blind causing weapon.
Void Stalker: Lhykosidae has survived the transition between real space and the empyrean more times then any living soul. He has mastered the art a thousand times over and is rumoured to be able to make the leap even without the warp jump generator. No Spider has fallen under his gaze, but only when he is unseen does he truly excel.
Lhykosidae will never be lost in the warp due to doubles of triples during a Warp Jump. When Lhykosidae has joined a unit of warp spiders making a Warp Jump using the Warp Jump Generators, they may choose to re-roll any single dice of the 2d6. They must take the second option. If Lhykosidae is not joined to any unit, then he may warp jump 3d6, may re-roll a single dice.
Exarch Powers: Stalker, Hit'n'run
Warlord Trait: Mark of the incomparable hunter
Remnants of Glory: The Spiders Mantle. The Spiders Mantle is an ornate set of four spinneret rifles inlaid into Lhykosidae's armour in the fashion of spiders legs. Warp Spiders are masters of monofilament, but none as accomplished as their lord who is said to weave stunning tapestries even in the fires of combat.
Range 18 inches. Strength 6. Ap 1. Assault 4, monofilament.
Thoughts? I made him according with my other new phoenix lord Zandros as this guy to be an elite killer, while Zandros handled hordes.

I like him as I have always wanted to see a spider phoenix lord and he fits the bill nicely.
Maybe he could be a character hunter with an improved version of marksmans eye giving him precision shots on a 4+?

Actually, good rules. Warp spiders need a bit of a bump to get them more attractive for novice players.

I don't think I understand the first part, but thanks for the compliment. I think Warp Spiders are at a very good place right now, and actually very easy to use. They have very simple guns that pile wounds on and are threats to light vehicles, they have a good armour save and are extremely mobile with their plethora of movement in every phase of the game. I did think of him as a character sniper, but with look out sir! I think that it isn't a good role to fill. Especially when you have the ranger hero who does that job, albeit badly. To me each phoenix lord fills a niche, Jain Zar for low level characters and low T high save units, Fuegan for vehicles, Karandras for monsters and such. But what we lack is a ranged elite killer and any kind of horde sweeper, so it makes sense to have him fulfil one of these rolls.

I presume he should have a jump generator, and if so is the case the rules for his weapon are a bit unnecessary since ge will always be using the heavy 5 profile. Otherwise I think the rules are quite suitable.
As for the headsmashing, the name is actually fluff-based and not a randomly generated eldar-ish name

First, his Unit Type should be "Jetpack Infantry (Character)"
Second, Jump Packs do not grant Relentless, however, Jet Packs (like the Warp Jump Generator) do.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Not sure why you would take him over another 2 squads of Warp Spiders. Most PL that are taken are taken for utility. Karandras grants his squad Shrouded, Bharoth blinds everything, and Asurmen can get multiple warlord traits and has a good inv. This guy is just a beatstick. I dont think he would see play at all. Needs unique rules to make him worth it.

Isn't that the same for all phoenix lords? I don't think Karandras has shrouded, he has stealth though and Baharroth needs to get very close to a gun line for his blind thing to pay off, and it only works against certain units. Asurmens niche is to be a good warlord, but he really misses out on ranged shooting power and not being a good match in his own aspect, much like Maugan ra and Fuegan. Void Stalker would mean there is only a 1/36 chance of losing a guy while jumping, and gets you a better jump on average.
He also makes a unit that is good against everything, to be good at everything and VERY good against somethings. 4 strength 6 Ap 1 shots that hit on 2's, add in a spinneret exarch with fast shot and that unit just became a credible threat to TEQ and Riptides. Gives them some acceptable assault with 5 WS 8 power weapon attacks at Initiative better then you. Night Vision is rather handy, but I think I am going to swap it for hit'n'run to make him more helpful for units other then warp spiders.
What kind of supportive rule are you thinking of?

I like these ones you make a lot, Alex whom is awesome, but you need to give this guy a power weapon of some description. A 225 point character shouldn't be locked out of a fight so easily by a 16-point Space Marine Sarge and even if he is a shooting monster shouldn't be a wet paper towel in melee. Stalker is nice and all, but it's also horribly overpriced for what it does and it's mechanic is dull and dreadfully slow, and even on a success it's not actually enough to make the Sidae a threat in close combat. Essentially 4+ to get shred in a challenge only...
Well, either that or play on Hit and Run to it's limit and give him Shield of Grace instead.

I'm not certain how much thought went into the name, but I can pretend to give an explanation.
Lhyko, while being close to the name of a rogue inquisitor in Warhammer, it's also a nickname of some guy from the US and also the polish name for phloem which just happens to be living tissue in bark which transport nutrients.
Sidhae, would be a rewrite of sídhe which is essentially fairies. Not the "sparkly fairy dust of flying" kind of fairy but the "sell you useless trinkets in exchange for all memories of your childhood so they can cannibalise them and gain powers" or "exchange your new born toddler for an monster that looks exactly the same while you are sleeping" sort of fairy. You know, the kind of fairy you dream nightmares about.
I actually didn't manage to find a more lore-base explanation for it like how Nanar is the word for Spider or Quass is the name for a creature of the warp.
Oh, and, I'd use 30 Warp Spiders in every game I played if it wasn't for the fact that I need Crimson Hunters to fend of Hellturkeys. They really don't need a bump, but the lost in warp rule does make taking a supporting Autarch extremely risky

The name was taken from C.S. Goto's travesty "Eldar Prophesy", as was the craftworld Kaelor.
However, Lykosidae is the genus of hunting spiders such as Wolf Spiders.

@Mahtamori
Thanks, I'm considering of revamping all the Phoenix Lords, if with nothing else but a new stat line and SoulFire. I do think however that certain phoenix lords need a boost and I have a few ideas of how to improve the likes of Maugan Ra, Jain Zar and Baharroth.
Lhykosidae does indeed have a power weapon, while nothing fancy he does have a pair of master crafted power blades. That gives him 6 attacks on the charge at WS 8 and strength 4 AP 3. Should be enough to handle a reduced MEQ squad, and he would be good in challenges with stalker. I think that phoenix lords only get exarch powers that they're own exarchs of their aspect can get, that's why I went with stalker, seemed fluffy for a spider guy.
Miko was right about the name, I did indeed steal the name from C.S Goto's elder prophecy books, which I do agree...where terrible! But I didn't want to make new phoenix lord fluff, when some already existed, when I could simply flesh him out.
