This hombre weighs in at 1485 currently and is mostly keyed as an all-comers casual/semi-competitive starting point for a building SM army. I think I've got most bases covered - decent AA between the two talons, contingencies for Hordes in the combi-flamers, vehicles popped by krak/meltabombs/melta squad, HQ pair and Honor Guard can go tangle with a threatening CC unit (plan on rolling telepathy on Libby and praying for Invisibility) with the Chapter Master leading. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm not certain about this, but doesn't this end up with you either starting one or two of the Talons on the board where they get a free turn of shooting? You're only allowed up one of those Talons in reserve, unless the escort rule changes it.

The flyer rule changes it. Flyers have to start in reserve.

I know this isn't the best place, but if you have flyers in reserve, could you also have one regular unit in reserve? The reserve rules confuse me.
As to the list, I think Sternguard would fit nicely.

By regular reserve rules, 50% of your army at most can be in reserve unless affected by another rule (see: Drop Pod Assault, Flyers). So if you only have one unit not in pods or as flyers, it must be deployed. If you had two units, one could be in reserve.

Sternguard could very easily fit in. Double flamers, five man, in a pod likely. Or seven man naked to use their delicious bolters. Don't think I can find room for them in 1500, but 1750+ definitely.
