Hey everyone,

I built this roughly 1500pt Traitor IG army for the previous edition of 40k. Had a lot of fun with it with an added hydra and vendetta, bits you don't recognise as GW, FW, maxmini or pig iron are my own either greenstuff or plasticard.

Obligatory rubbish army shot:

HQ: Counts-as Straken command squad

Primaris Psyker:

Elite: Psyker battlesquad:

Troops:
Platoon:

notice the frescoes painted on the bases

Selection of "advisors" 4 commissars and a priest (centre)

The Veterans

The tanks:
I painted each of these with a fair time period inbetween and used different methods and paints each time ... great way to get uniformity!

This is my "general purpose multi role" tank, It can be a griffin, medusa, collossus or even a demolisher. The gun even pivots ( I am still proud of this).

Lastly my Lee-man russ, I was a bit fed up of the standard russ look, so settled on a design somethink like the love child of a t34-85 and a m3 grant (the lee has that stupid turret on its turret). This is also my first finished scratch built tank.

This army was great fun to make and paint (except the cultist's cloth, it gets boring after a while), learning OSL in the process and painting every mini to my best standard, most of the verterans "bloodpact style" facemasks are almost NMM.
With the exception of some of the infantry conversions (the sergeant with the Hannibal mask) the tanks are probably my favorite, it was a real challenge to make the tracks fit with the suspension.
Actually there is too many things about this army I like, it was a real labour of love and the first army that I fully painted up to 1500 points and drew a line under. I had thought about adding more to it a number of times but I doubt that will ever happen, I still have this army for now so I can still post up pics if anyone would like to see more or anything secific.

C&C welcome, they are large images in the gallery.

Thank you. Hope you enjoy.
N.

Congrats on that army, great work and a solid use of minis/bits. I particularly like your Psyker, such a bad ass mini still

I'm planning a Traitor Guard army myself, using some forgeworld, but mostly DV cultists. I'd be pleased if it turned out anything like yours.

What parts did you use as the basis of your tanks?

In your bits box

Now that is really nice to see. Very unique and moody force you have there. Love the blocky and retro-looking tanks.

@Warspawned: The tanks are built from the "Leman Russ Accessories Pack" from the old Leman Russ, plasticard, random tubes and the tracks and road wheels are from the now non-existant tnk sprues. Most of the arms I've used are Forgeworld the variety is a god send for a disorganised horde army like this. Good luck with your army!

@ Rewdan: The heads are these [link] from Maxmini

Thanks everyone.

Nice. I like the tanks.
They're chaos, uniformity isn't that important, especially with tanks, of which most of them are looted, and repainted/refitted.

Nice miniatures!

Awesome stuff, there's a great feel to this army, and the contrast between the cultists and ex-guardsmen is cool.

Great army! keep up the good work, I have been slowly convincing my roommate to play Traitor Guard.

"You are like a son and together we have all but conquered the galaxy. Now the time has come for me to retire to Terra. My work as a soldier is done and now passes to you for I have great tasks to perform in my earthly sanctum. I name you Warmaster and from this day forth all of my armies and generals shall take orders from you as if the words came from mine own mouth. But words of caution I have for you for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of thought and of action.
