Subject: 1850 New to Chaos. The silence of this forum offends Slaanesh!
Hello all, I've been playing Eldar for a while now, and dabbling with the new space marines, so I thought that it was finally time to try out the ancient enemy. I love the look of the models and there's not many better feelings than watching your army rave so hard that a planet falls apart around them. So here's the glory of Slaanesh, with just a hint of Tzeentch for the pyrotechnics and bass. I would like this list to be as competitive as possible, but I understand my first few tries aren't going to be top tier, I enjoy that this list is fun at the same time... Since Eldar has devolved to power gaming for me......
{WL} Chaos Lord w/Mark of Slaanesh/Terminator Armor/ Power Axe/ Burning Brand of Skalanthrax
Daemon Prince w/ Mark of Tzeentch/Power Armor/Wings/ML3
2x Heralds of Slaanesh on Steeds w/ Exalted Gift/ ML1
15x Daemonettes w/ Alluress/ Greater Reward
15x Noise Marines w/ Blasters/ 2x Blastmasters/ Icon of Excess
5x Noise Marines w/ CCWs/ Doom Siren/ Power Axe in Rhino
5x Noise Marines w/ CCWs/ Doom Siren/ Power Axe in Rhino
8x Hounds of erm.. Ecstasy.. yeah!
3x Obliterators w/ Mark of Slaanesh.. for some reason.. because I have the points..maybe they'll get charged..
The general strategy is for the hounds, the rhinos and the flying beastie to start on the table and get aggressive early. Flat out type aggressive.
Outflanking with the Heralds are 15 boys and 15 girls just waiting to party in the opponents backside. Hopefully at the same time. (Slaanesh will be pleased)
Deepstriking as the Retinue of Awesome is my Chaos Lord throwing out a gout of armor penetrating flame before the obliterators finish off the target.
I know that I'm low on troops.. I could drop three hounds and the obliterators' marks for some cultists.. But I'm really hoping for that outflanking onslaught to get in there and take the enemy position.
So, what are your thoughts?

Death is just the beginning, for those who walk the path of Valhalla. Flesh is the stuff of the enemy, transcend it, for only in spirit are the Eldar truly eternal.

Sounds interesting... but what could it do again an army like mine, where the army deep strikes to flank? Or what about an eldar army that just swoops around with hit and run? Or maybe a tau army that destroys everything at range? You need to consider this. Also, since when would Slaanesh ever bother with such ugly things as obliterators?

Especially Oblits with Powerfists and Initiative 5.
The Hounds are the best things in this list.
Don't take a ML 3 CSM prince because he has to take a terrible Tzeentch power. If you take a Tzeentch Prince it needs to be from Demons.
How do the CSM get outflank?
So the only things that will be starting on the board are 2 Rhinos, the Hounds and a Demon Prince? We made need to recalculate the amount of units that you can hold in Reserve.

You can't take two Heralds as your Allied HQ - you can only take more than one herald in a Primary Detachment. Similarly, I don't think the mounted Heralds could have joined the Noise Marines anyway, due to the Daemonic Instability rule, though im not solid on that.
Since you don't seem to have too much trouble taking stuff from other gods in this list, why not just take things that work and not worry so much about the "theme"? Instead of a mark that is just utterly worthless on your Lord and the Obliterators (since you took an Axe, anyway), run your Oblits as Nurgle and get a Murder Sword or Black Mace to use that sweet sweet I6.
Brometheus also brings up some good points. If you want the outflanking Warlord trait, you either have to roll for it and get lucky, or take Huron or Ahriman.
*EDIT*
I took what you had down to begin with and made my own spin on it:
Spoiler:
PRIMARY DETACHMENT: Chaos Space Marines
HQ:
Chaos Lord - 190
-Mark of Slaanesh, Terminator Armor, Meltabombs
-The Murder Sword, Burning Brand of Skalathrax
Chaos Terminators [5] - 275
-Mark of Slaanesh, Icon of Excess
-Terminator Armor, Chainfist, Combi-Flamer
-Terminator Armor, Power Maul, Heavy Flamer
-Terminator Armor, Lightning Claws
-Terminator Armor, Lightning Claws
-Terminator Armor, Lightning Claws
HEAVY SUPPORT:
Obliterators [2] - 158
-Mark of Nurgle
-Veterans of the Long War
ALLIED DETACHMENT: Chaos Daemons
HQ:
Daemon Prince of Tzeentch - 305
-Mastery Level 3
-Daemonic Flight
-Warp-forged Armor
TROOPS:
Daemonettes of Slaanesh [15] - 135
FAST ATTACK:
Flesh Hounds of Khorne [10] - 160
TOTAL: 1850
You still have the Slaaneshi Lord and core of Noise Marines, but now he drops with a Retinue of Fearless FNP Terminators with a Heavy Flamer and some Lightning Claws (which could easily be swapped for some Combi-Plasma or other loadouts of your choice).
The Daemon Prince has been swapped to that of the Chaos Daemons flavor, in order to unlock Flickering Fire or the other (better) Tzeentchian spells, but you could also (for the same points cost) get a Lord of Change with ML3 and a Greater and Exalted Reward instead. Prescience + Noise Marines is delicious, and a Portalglyph always comes in handy...

The herald on steed gives outflank I believe, haven't played with him yet.
Don't give unwieldy items to I5 guys :/ you're better off with a power maul if you're requiring the +S and hope for failed saves.
CSMDP with tzeentch is good 2/3 times. The Beam and template rock while flying around since you shoot from any angle. S8 not needing to roll to hit is sweet especially if Eldar/Guard or Tau are surround for 2d6 explosions

I don't recommend mixing sonic boasters with blastmasters. One is short range one is long. I prefer 3x 5man squads with just blastmasters. Also I'd stick with the power sword vs l. Claw, I just prefer more attacks though.
I desperately need to look into CD DP's lol
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh ya, murder sword is cool on a bike, unless they're eternal warrior. Even then you'll likely dish out plenty of wounds.

Very true, i see a lot of weakness now. I'm thinking of trying a list with fate weaver accompanied by a csm daemon prince of tzeentch with wings, armor, ml3 and the burning brand for dual flanker goodness on the tzeentch chart. Also ahriman outflanking outflanking with a unit of twelve havoks with plasma guns and an axe champion. Another ten man squad of marines with plasma if I'm lucky. And two 5 man squads in rhinos with the melta fist combo. Ten daemonettes. Ten cultists. 6 more havoks with four missile launchers. And the aegis defense line with comms relay. What do you think, much better now? Slaanesh can be replaced like the whimsy he represents.
